Beau is getting EVEN OLDER. So we are going to ride some damn bikes.

1. Ride meets at 11am at Norm's, leaves at 12.

2. to Bellevue to Wade's and pay for Beau to shoot gunz.

3. Back to Seattle, establish meetup point for anyone who didn't want to shoot gunz, but wanted to participate in ride.

4. Ride to Grocery store, pick up shit tonnes of food and booze, load into bags on my Trek and any assorted LHT's that might be there.

5. Ride to Beau's, BBQ, drink, dance party in newly cleared out living room.

6. Cake. Need cake.

7. If everyone is not passed out already, to Carkeek for fire.

8. Monday - Show up to work late or not at all.

BTW:: There should only be guns rented from and left at Wade's. Don't bring guns. If someone has a firearm to shoot, drive it to Wade's on your own then DO NOT show up to the BBQ with it.

I would say we should do as many miles as Beau is old but I don't think I'm down to do 67 miles.

This is WAY better than what I had planned! Things I want:

1. Larry's SKS with banana clip

2. John's Ruger Lever Action rifle

3. Scott's Ruger .22 target pistol.

That would be the trifecta.

Yes. But I have no idea how I can carry an SKS on my bike without attracting undue attention.. anyone with a car want to volunteer for small arms transport?

Which leads us to the next question..

Yes, you can bring your own guns. Wade's is indoor, I know that you can fire AR-15's on this range.. not sure if there are any restrictions on caliber. I'll call them and ask for specifics.

Some indoor ranges require lead-free bullets also. I'll ask John if Wade's is like that. I don't think so, but it'll be good to check.

What kind of training / certification does Wade's require to shoot? I haven't fired off a round in like... four years now? at least? Except for the M-16 in Saigon, but it doesn't really count. I would like to play with an AR-15 for 'comparison' purposes if they have ones to rent out.

Blanket + Xtracycle + rifle = gun tote bike

What could go wrong?

Seriously though, I have an Xtra you could carry your guns in.

As far as finding out all the info we need from Wade's, maybe someone who is an experienced shooter/knows what to ask can call.. Honestly I don't know jack shit except what I have read on the site. Anyone?

So I dont want to volunteer my car to drive to Bellevue as I want to ride but I can drive to Norms so we can store guns in there while we eat, as I think someone mentioned it being illegal to bring guns into a bar.

Leave your guns in the car. Just put a blanket over them. You can conceal weapons, you just can't carry and conceal weapons. And no, most bars aren't going to let you bring firearms in. Especially Bellevue bars.

Hmmm.

Ya know what.

DO NOT BRING ANY GUNS ON THIS RIDE.

Just rent guns at Wade's, it ain't that much.

Way safer for everyone involved.

Agreed?

+1

I felt nervous about this whole idea and then figured I am a ninny and decided to just keep my mouth shut. But now that Larry is putting it out there I agree with him. Lame, I know.

I have too much faith in people being really fucking stupid.

Most .83ers would be totally cool, but all we need is one fucktard.

If someone wants to meet us at Wade's with their firearm, then cool. But we can't be sure that someone has properly secured their firearm for transport.

FYI I am fine with the Rent at Wades policy. I am just being a pain in the ass. I have had not one but TWO caffeinated sodas.

i'm not going on this ride, but i'd still feel safer if you all weren't carrying guns on your bike.

What's the gun policy at the bbq later? This will likely dictate my attendance...

Mexicans will only shoot you if you are a) clouds or b) carrying drugs.

Plan fail on our part. We totally should have addressed this upon posting the ride.

There should only be guns rented from and left at Wade's. Don't bring guns. If someone has a firearm to shoot, drive it to Wade's on your own then DO NOT show up to the BBQ with it.

since I can't really ride yet I may be down to transport firearms. need to discuss with the wife.

if you rent from wade's be prepared to get full on ass raped on ammo. they will only let you shoot full metal jacket hollow points which are about a bazillion times the price of target ammo.

now, is there anything you bitches WANT to shoot (that is allowed at the range)? that you don't own? we have access to a pretty sizable arsenal.

EDIT:

we're IN!!! I'll be shooting a beretta M9, and maybe a glock 19

Whatcha got? I think I'm pretty set. If you could be the firearms wrangler, that would be awesome. I was trying to wrangle my buddy Scott into doing that, but he's being iffy.

Love the flyer Larry. Glad to see all those pictures of me eating pork haven't gone to waste.

Yeah, the "gun ride" seems to die on the vine usually. This time I'm not worried. Now that I am becoming a gun owner this might be more a more common destination. Eventually I would like to trek out to an outdoor range in the sticks and maybe do some camping at the same time. Targets are fine, but the southerner in me wants to plink cans off a fence.
