who was it that was talking about them, recently?? corpusjuris, is that your friend's band perhaps?

anyway: looking to join a team if anyone's looking for another. I kinda like Roge's idea of presidents.

or, one team idea: Donkey Kong?? basically would need the following.. I'd dress up as any of these:
* ape
* Mario
* damsel
* one or more barrels

also, if anyone wants to start a scouts team this year, you can have my costume from last year (i still have the shirt, at least).

yeah Georgetown Orbits are playing the afterparty! I've seen this group a couple times now, they are a really good ska/dub/funk band and as per their performance on KEXP this morning they've added a couple new musicians.

My roommate interrupted my hangover this morning to be REALLY LOUD EVERYWHERE as he got ready to go to the studio. Jesus fuck.

But yeah they are pretty damn good.

Fun story: I was their first-ever drummer, then got kicked out at the third practice when I was too hungover to get to the practice space. Also, I kind of sucked.

I look forward to dancing and drinking this night!

OMG, can someone lend me a bike next weekend??? Not gonna have time to get my Soma back up and running...

Also, I have Friday the 30th off of work, so Thursday night costume ride is a go for me :D

Ginger, I hope you can get a bike! We need Mrs. Tenenbaum.

I'm going to Ballard Goodwill after work tomorrow for tag day sale to look for a suit worthy of Royal. Might swing up to the Value Village afterward if i don't find anything good - they have a nice selection of general Halloween stuff (wigs!) as well. In case anyone wants to join me in costume hunting. I'll probably get to Goodwill ~6:30-7:00.

What size are you and/or what do you need to get the Soma running?

I'm broken down at the moment and waiting for parts: my spare Campy 10spd shifters are on loan and I'm not taking my precious out in the rain.

So, my mechanic skills, bike finding ability, and spare time are available. What's up?

Unfortunately I'm out of town all week, but my Soma's at Bryan's house - he said he'd play with it this week. The bottom bracket is toast though.

Also, Ryan Lemke offered to lend me a bike for the weekend, so I think i'm covered by the awesomeness of point83.

Switching to steel axles and away from bread products is the first step to bottom bracket functionality.

I put the Raliegh back together yesterday, I'd been looking for an excuse to do that for a while anyway. It's not as nice as it used to be but it'll do you better than any garage sale bike.
I'll ride it a day or two until you get back to make sure the kinks are out.

Team Zissou. Incidentally, that's ALSO what I'm dressing up as for Halloween... where are you guys getting the glocks? They don't make kids toys that look like actual guns anymore.

So, I have family obligations keeping me away from anything till late (11ish?), but will be looking for fun times after that. Keep your phones on, I might come searching for you.

I have two airsoft, glock-style handguns. One is CO2 powered to for extra lulz.

you could do it even if it was a real gun. washington is an open carry state. you can carry a loaded weapon without a permit if it is in plain sight. it starts getting fuzzy after that though, if you use it in a menacing manner thats when problems start.

but yeah, this is just a bb gun. it's legal and fine. just dont go pointing it anywhere just to be safe (people could call the tops on you because they look real)

bb pistol. i have one if you need it. no holster

Trued Story: back in the day, my roomates and I threw a rent-party in our big ol house in the Udistrict. Some random kid had to be kicked out for being rowdy, and he came back wtih a bb gun, drunk and angry waiving it around in the yard. The cops happened to be coincidentally swarming to shut down our party due to noise complaints, and the kid came soooo close to getting toasted in my front yard. Don't be that kid.
