3yrs & 10mos later, I'm heading my own way and will be moving out of the WSEA this weekend. I'd love to do this as much by bike as possible, and I have a couple bikes that deserve to be ridden to their new home.

Please join me, hangovers and disjointed halloween costume leftovers and all, for some moving, beer drinking and single-ness celebrating. I'm moving two blocks off of the I-90 bike trail in Leschi, about a 8 mile move. Here is the map of where we'd be heading

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3275993

I figure to be alive enough to do this by 10:00am and will be supplying coffee and what not. Meet me in High Point at 10 and we'll work it.

If you can't come but would like to loan a trailer (Lee?) I would greatly appreciate it and will compensate you in beer. I will have a ziptruck for moving the two desks & a dresser but the rest of it will be boxes and other crap. I don't own much stuff that isn't bike related.

So are you telling people to show sans-bike, or to come with empty backpacks, etc to haul stuff? Either way I actually look forward to this.

I have three bikes in ridable condition, all of them man-sized. If anyone wants to ride one of them, hop the 21 out (the 15 from Ballard continues on as the 21... one bus!). Otherwise, come out with backpacks, racks to strap shit to, or hauling whatever trailer you can arrange. Or hell, just come out on your bike and we'll ride out as a posse.

sure, I'm sure we'll use the room. I have houseplants that won't like a bike-trailer or pickup truck

besides moving, can you tell us all stories of how fun it is to live there RIGHT NOW with someone that wants you gone? those kind of awkward stories are the best.

how comfortable is the couch? lots of eye contact when walking around the house being domestic?

:)

You can rent an ENORMOUS truck with airbrakes and a lift gate for $70.

The one we got would have been big enough for our car and all our shit. m

Or you could have your move take 3 weeks. That works too.

Seriously, I barely own a thing. Two desks, a bookshelf, boxes of books, a dresser, laundry, a couple boxes of kitchen stuff and a bunch of bike-shit. I could probably do this entire move in one pickup truck load.

My dad will be coming down with some furniture I stashed up in Everett years ago in his pickup. If anyone has an extra bed, TV or couch kicking around in good shape let me know.

UPDATE! Lease is signed, services are scheduled to move and I've arranged to borrow Aaron Goss's huge trailer. One more trailer and we could do this in one trip + a vehicle or two.

I really hope the weather is good and my friends come out and support me on this. Breaking up with a girl & movintg is hard enough, doing it by yourself would just suck.

Hey Langston, sad to hear the bummer-news. I too went through the process of moving this weekend... but am sorry to admit it's a positive one in that it I am moving in together with my gal, which means I have some left over stuff.

I have a extra full sized IKEA Hopen bed frame, it's nice but don't need two beds in the new place:

Description: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S19849804
(make an offer, no idea what to sell it for?)

I also have an old SHARP CRT TV that I no longer need, can't remember the exact size, but it would work fine until you found some schnazzy flat screen.

And to anyone else, I have an old Klein Pulse Comp 17" mountain bike if someone is interested? Please let me know.

If Langston doesn't want/need/take it, can I make an offer? He's got first dibs but I'd like something new...

I'll take you up on both the TV & bed frame. I'll send you a PM to talk $$.

Haha, not sure if that was a typo or if someone is playing some tricks with my last post, but we did drink a couple of beers during the move last night...

*ping*

I have also scheduled a zipcar pickup truck to move desks & my dresser from 2:30- 5:00pm.
I have already relocated to Leschi and have moved laundry & kitchen stuff, so I am hoping we can do a morning run in a couple of trailers and then come back, eat pizza and then move the heavy stuff.

Répondez s'il vous plaît.

Haha, thanks Justing for making me laugh for the first time today : )

FattyOverpopulatingAsian, let's take this over to PM to keep me from putting up too many posts on what should be Langston's moving thread.

I'm stuck working in the morning, but as soon as I get done I'll wander over. I imagine everything Xtracycle-able will be already moved, but I'll bring over some cookies or something as a welcome to the neighborhood.

I can't quite hit your new place with a rock, but it's pretty close.

I was thinking more about investing in a compressed air cannon. Handy for shooting dead cats into a distant neighbor's yard as well.
