If you didn't get a chance to make it last night, or if you didn't bring any cash (My apologies for not having the necessary technology for turning plastic into paper) Art Velo will be open until 11/14, Weds - Sat.
Starting Sunday, fourteen artists will have their bicycle-inspired work displayed in the space attached to Alley Cat Eats & Drinks in Fremont (a Huffy's toss from the Lenin statue). Why not have a party to kick it off right?
The reception starts at 7PM, so you should have just enough time to wake up and shower off your regrets from the night before. Leftover face paint will be mercifully overlooked, but remnants of costume are just bad form. Worst case, there should be refreshments should you just need to try and forget. Alley Cat will also be open and serving food, so go check them out!
No cost to attend, but each work shown will have a limited number of affordable prints available for sale. Show up early and decorate your walls with bikes! Your non-bike friends and loved ones will appreciate how bikes have infiltrated every single part of your life. Make sure you buy them extra prints for Xmas.
Show will stay up until Nov 14th. From what I hear, Ryan will be doing other events at the space throughout that time. Keep your eyes and ears open when riding through Fremont or check in w/ him over at GMG:

The Art Velo Bike and the Menstrual Monday Bike should have babies.

When averaged, they may create a socially acceptable amount of visible seat post.

I dropped in on Ryan on location yesterday to see how things were shaping up. It's a great spot, although it took me a second to find it. I've created this handy visual reference for those of you as useless at navigation as I am:
Save this as the wallpaper on your phone and it will be like you have one of those turn-by-turn GPS things, except narrated by ME. It will up your tech-cool instantly. Heck, you're cooler already just thinking about it.
Oh, and Meat will be bringing down a reclaimed wood bike wall rack:
Come check it out on Sunday, or take a look at Meat & Chessa's etsy store (Cantilever and Press).
All the art that was already up was great, but I know R is waiting for stuff from a few more people. If any of you are reading, get it in!

… I'm one of those people that still needs to bring my work in. I have some photos that I will be selling, come check them out!
Thanks to everyone that came out last night for the opening! There was a great turnout. Thanks to Wright Brothers Cyclery and uBRDO for supplying the beer.

All the art on display is for sale and not only supports the arts, but cycling as well. Does it get any better?
PS- if you took any pics, could you please send me a link? I didn't get any photos.

It's a diverse collection of photography, collage prints, block printing, and functional art (fork lamps, anyone?). Great stuff, great space, can't wait to come back with cash. Nice work artists & Ryan.

Two movies tonight (Weds) on the big screen starting at 7! I was with Ryan when he picked them out, both are very definitely VHS only. At the very least they should be memorable.
And of course all the art will still be available to check out and buy.
