I think I'll just stand in my shower wearing my helmet and clothes and raise a toast to thee. At least I'll be warm.
And I tweaked my knee so that'll be my official lame excuse.

I'm out.
my band (Orkestar Zirconium) is playing at the Hwy 99 Blues Club (1414 Alaskan Way) at 10, it's First Thursday and I most definatly need to not get pneumonia and die.

yes ma'am.
you should totally still come tonight. the cold, wet air will completely numb any knee pain you may be experiencing.

Or I could stay at home and be warm and dry, numbing any pain with copious amounts of red wine.
Gosh....such a hard choice to make.... :)

knowing how our rides go in a downpour, we'll probably be coping with it by consuming copious amounts of everything as well.

LOL! I won't be able to make it. But I think I'll do the hot shower toast to you all as well. Okay... maybe I'll ride the fixie around the neighborhood for a little bit and call it good. :)

I went to the doctor on Monday only to find out that i've had pneumonia for about 2 weeks (not just a nasty cough) and i've got an ear infection now too. I'm going to sit this one out and let the antibiotics work their destructive magic. see you next week!

the one that keeps me in line is out of town, so if i have ever shown any prior restraint it surely won't be there this week.

Are there any CRT's in your office?
Find a big one, spread your pants over it, wait 5 hours. Presto, dry pants.
I've got 4 monitors on my dev machine, and they're all covered in wet bicycle gear.

Statistics classes suck in a really big way. At least the one I took did. I'm sorry that it is ruining your fun.

One of my coworkers figured out that the cabinet containing our cluster was a fine clothes drier for pants soaked by biking to work on a wet day. With all the air blowing out the back of the servers it probably dried them faster than most clothes driers, even.
Barring any major catastrophes, I will be there tonight! I've gotta take off a little early, though.

I've got a first-generation Itanium prototype (700MHZ) that I use to dry my towel. It consumes 800 Watts.

At that point it's no longer a processor. It's a space heater that can also do math.

Joby I want to see a photo of your office/workspace. We need to know the luxuries that Micrsofites enjoy, beyond your bluetooth pop machine.
