Y'all!

Bike Sabbath will be congregating for brunch at mine and Jeni's crib this Sunday - come eat with us! We're serving up fried beignets, the good shit from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, a.k.a, the Big Sleazy.

We start at 11:00, and we're gonna leave at 1:00 for the ride. If you do not wish to attend brunch but want to ride bikes, we're definitely departing at 1:00. I'm driving that point home so as not to encourage bad tardiness habits from sabbath days of yore. Also, Monica will be mad at me if I fuck up the new rules.

A couple of more things:
My baby brother is going to be in town from Louisiana, so say hello to the new guy, he's cool. I'm super duper pumped.
I'm thinkin a nice, scenic route that includes the waterfront and the Mercer Island loop, so far.
I checked, and beignets are not vegan. If you ever cheat, this Sunday would be the time to do so.
Bring some stuff if you can like fruits, breakfast meats, juice, vegetarian and vegan options, etc. We're mainly doing beignets, eggs, and coffee.

Oh yeah! And our address is 6518 25th Ave. NW for those of you who don't know. That's in Ballard, right off the corner of 65th and 25th. It's easy.

Sounds good to me. I love showing wayward Southerners around our lovely city. Are there going to be biscuits? I sure hope so!

I'm unfamiliar with Brunch Sabbath rules and traditions: Is there anything I can bring to help out?

If you have a french press pot go on & bring it, we might be scrambling to keep enough different coffee pots & coffee making methods going to keep everyone sipping.

Otherwise, not necessary to bring something, but by the same token, anything you bring will be welcome. Capice?

Thank y'all for your charming company and help with the coffee and food. C-lion and i had a great time serving you beignets and eggs. and with the multiple mechanicals, the ride was a good pace for our Louisanan guest, with a lovely unexpected nacho/chili making dance party, including a game of pumpkin toss, to top off the night. The most exciting, fated, though ultimately disappointing, find was the Louisianathon at the VFW across from the Roanoke Tavern on Mercer Island!

thanks kids. there will be plenty of photo documentation coming soon.

It was a pleasure seeing you guys at the locks. We got off to an earlier breakfast and reversed Prof. Dave's intended route - West Seattle first to buy raffle tickets, down to Fauntleroy, around Alki, up the waterfront to Disco Park, then down to the Ballard farmer's market. A fine Sunday!

I swear I'll ride bikes with you guys again some time.
