Hola pointythree. Long time, long time...
Alright. We gave it a go last year, having a .83 south down here in the Bay. Obviously that only lasted so long... I'm not even sure how long it lasted, since after my faceplant on the inaugural ride I got laughed out of town... Or back to town... Or whatever. Hey! Fuck you guys.
Anywho. Now I'm here. For a while. And there are no goddamn rides down here. So I'm starting one that hopefully will catch enough momentum before I take off on travels again to provide cyclists of all walks something to do on Thursday nights for a good long time. This week, November 19th is the inaugural ride.
This is not a .83 south. This is just a ride for people who live in the Bay and heart Oakland as much as I do and want to ride some bikes with some like minded drunks. I already got a gang of rascally drunken travelers that are in. So if you find yourself down in the area and want to come ride, the general facts are the same.
Thursdays, weekly:
Meetup is 7pm,
Roll out at 7:30
@ Frank H. Ogawa Plaza - on 14th between Washington St and Broadway
For now there's a facebook group (Oaktown Ride Round!!) that should have any prefunk posted up. If you're in the area and want to contact me directly my digits is 206.718.6203.
With any luck we'll get a good group rollin weekly and have ourselves a little forum where we can chat about ride plans, prefunks and go on with general asshattery.

Oh yayer! Gotta big up Oakland! I used to stay on 55th and MLK. Riding through downtown at night was always extra ghetto, beware of the jackers and getting flats. I wish Point 83 existed when I lived in the Bay Area. All that was in there then were gunshots and murders. Ah nostalgia, I will always love me some east bay. If this new group gains momentum, I will see you for some chicken and waffles next time I am in town!
