Well, since molly's not putting together a girls calendar this year, I guess we'd better step up.
The printing has begun, and the calendars are due to arrive before the end of the month!
Order now!
Oh, and someone with a Santa suit - do december for me, would you? That's a dear. Holy shit do we have this covered or what?

Derrick, can I borrow your lighting gear? I want to expand on an idea.

ive got hot lights, white paper back drop, and some umbrellas but they are going to be tied up at my office for just a bit longer
miles, yeah, i just set up a paypal ordering system for molly a few years ago, easy cheesy. holler at me and we can get it set up. we can easily make a point83.com/mancalendar page (or whatever the name is) easy enough
i think the hardest part she had was getting the printing price manageable.

I just saw my highschool speedo when I was moving. Derrick, can you arrange the lighting jig sometime soon? Photo party at your house?

In town now, but gone to SF before the next .83 ride :-(
This sounds like an awesome project, but really, do we want to go head to head with Rogelio in the "Lookin' purty for the camera" department?

Scott is right, but don't worry as there's plenty of room in his BMW.
Where are we going?

Half-naked Man Party at Henry's!
It's an "art space" so it's totally legit.

I was going to go to the UW/Cal game on Saturday but could be talked out of standing around in the cold with a tuba for 7 hours...

God, I don't check the forums for 12 hours and this is the kind of shit I have to deal with upon my return?
I wish I had actually bought those jean shorts.
By which I mean, of course, "in!" for saturday.

Diverting Drunks on Beat Up Bikes
Attractive Assholes on Bent Bianchis
Nearly Nude Nerds on NOS Nishikis
I know Henry is not at all new to taking pictures of naked (or mostly naked) men in his apartment and all. But can you promise me if I show up in rainbow hotpants the pics will actually end up on the wall of some red-blooded cycling belles' apartments?
Also: Henry invest in spaceheaters.
Woah, as I'm writing this my iTunes just randomly chose Billy Holliday, singing about "strange fruit hanging"

how many people are interested in doing this? I'd be up to shoot 5 or 6 on saturday. Maybe more if we don't care about getting too creative w/ backgrounds/locations.

Incidentally I have a 3pm birthday party in Tacoma this week so it's unlikely I could make it to a 6pm photo shoot. But I'm still interested in participating in spite of (or because of!) my deep seated body-shame.

I want this on real people's walls as much as you do. That's why I may exercise my editorial control to keep rainbow-hotpants out of the final print. Operative word "may." I can't tell how I'll feel about rainbow hotpants until I see rainbow hotpants!

The likening of the strange fruit she's singing about with your sweaty nuts is so inappropriate, I want to cry.

Do not underestimate the appeal to and buying power of the average bear or twink.

That is an interesting idea. After I get some material, perhaps I will invite a few ladies over... for a private viewing as it were.

I've intended to since I had the idea! My photographer, aka girlfriend, has already been brainstorming.
*edit: but to answer more pragmatically, I'm not sure if I'll be free on saturday - I'll check back on this particular shoot.

Miles: another good idea, which I think you should totally do, is to make limited-edition .83 13-hour sundials and give them to the first 50 pre-orders.
So, no rush or anything... take your time deciding whether to implement this idea or not. But if you do go for it, please put me down for the first 45 calendars.
