Liz and I were thinking of having a house-warming/Christmas party at our new place with our 2 other roommates next Thursday Dec. 17th.
Even though it would be on a Thursday ride we were thinking of starting with the normal thing- ride around a little bit then come back to our place sometime in the evening for dancing, drinks, and food.
Let us know if this idea is something you guys can handle as a substitution of a typical Thursday.
Also, we are trying to think of a theme: formal? ugly sweater? or wear some sort of lights on your body (got this idea from Christine)? sparkly... stuff... ?
Let us know!

That too! Well, only if Ryan and Christine come then it's only appropriate.

oooh snap. Yeah, just got Andre's email about the Christmas disaster.. so maybe we can modify this... Friday night? or Saturday Brunch then go over to the Disaster party?
My main consideration for this idea was that I am terribly broke this month and was thinking it would help to come back to a house instead of bar hopping.. but we'll see.
We do have a giant front yard and were thinking of creating a fire pit or buy an outdoor fireplace this week..

If you're truly broke and Caroline will let me borrow Lee's car, I can loan you my outdoor firepit for the party.

if you're truly broke, you probably don't want point83 coming over and breaking all your stuff.
are you familiar with the "upper decker"?

They wanted to do a gift exchange, that was the Disaster conflict.
I've tried to warn the ladies about hosting a Thursday ride at their house but they persist.
Did you hear the one about .83 emptying left over wedding kegs and soiling the white couch or the one where the hydraulic engineer removed the flow restrictor on a bottle of Tequila in someones home?

so the roommates and I are now in favor of this being on Friday instead (Dec 18th). It will be either tacky sweater or formal.

without Liz since she'll be gone Dec. 18-28th. So, roommates minus Liz.

i don't really think it would be a good idea if we had it on Thursday considering the advice andre gave which was basically how the Thursday ride is always pretty fluid and there may be problems created at the house especially on a Thursday ride. ...plus people have to work early the next morning..
we'll have more house parties i'm sure.

You know, the funny thing is, not posting the address until the last possible minute wound up being a pretty good move.
