Just let me know where the bonfire is going down when you get there so I can call 911.
Also, I am not buying the carbon offsets this year. Turns out with the devaluation of the dollar, Third World rainforests got expensive.

Should we do the tree-burning or the calendar-release on this ride?
Or... both?

Calendars, fire, drunk on a beach in the cold and dark. What could go wrong?

I was thinking to do this at a bar where people could mill and talk and sign, but if people are in favor of beaching it, I can toss 'em on the trailer with some trees ;)

Wanna go to a bar after we're done burning things?
We could even commit to a firm time so that non-awesome people could meet us there.

That's awesome Miles. I like both these ideas. Of course we all know we're going to be too shitfaced to sign our names on our calendars after the fire if this years massacre is anything like last years. But I kinda like that too.
Viking? Tin Hat? Nickerson? I'm not invested in this, I just like those bars and they're in that part of the hood... kinda.

if we leave westlake it'll probably take about an hour to get to golden gardens (slow with trees, + 1 stop along the way for drinkables). that puts us there at about 830. probably a fire for an hour or hour and a half.
10-1030ish sounds about likely time for sloop.
this based on 5 years of point83 travel time math

Don't forget to check your alleys for trees on the eve of trash day. I just picked up two and put them in the back yard for safe keeping. One is very nicely dried.

Speaking of, my alley in Eastlake has a bunch of trees. I can and will go through and collect trees and put them in my yard - but this is on condition that we come by and grab ALL of them on the way out to the fire.
I realize this is a detour from our normal route, so if someone with a trailer wants to coordinate, or heck lend me a trailer, hollar.

We're gunna go straight from westlake to the fire spot.
I'd say you're hosting a tree-loadup pre-func. Also, Want to borrow my second Burley?

$20 to the person to throw derricks bike on the fire.
Joby, that'd be rad. Thanks.
I am hosting a Christmas tree prefunk at my house in eastlake. There will be whiskey and beer there. Oh, and trees so be prepared to take one with you when you go.

We can have an teach-in about tree transport. It will be like the Bikery, only with more fire and crashes.

Why doesn't everyone just follow Stanglor's example and strap the trees horizontally across their backs? Then get yanked off their bike at the narrow inlet to the Fremont bridge...

I'll likely be bringing mine via Subaru (I still have a flat on the trucker ... don't see getting that fixed by then).

Doesn't Henry's mom know that bringing your kids to a .83 ride is a bad idea?

I'm gonna be a wuss about trying to bring a tree and probably bail on bringing one.
But since I still want to contribute, how much gasoline do I need to bring?
