Can you request BBQ pedestals in Seattle parks like you can request bike racks on Seattle sidewalks?

Cause if anyone is fun employed and could get some BBQ pedestals installed in Myrtle Edwards Park before this coming spring/summer that would be dandy.

Colin?

I'll haul the concrete if a bbq is purchased. The $590 group grill might be a bit steep, but I bet we could pull together the money for the $119 park grill.

The "Medium group grill" is only $301...

Or "The Texas". $524, but totally worth it.

As much as I support this, that is a lot of money just to have the park department tear out. It may last longer at a less monitored location, maybe here; http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=836+29th+Ave+S,+Seattle,+King,+Washington+98144&ll=47.588086,-122.342198&spn=0.000415,0.000862&t=h&z=20 ?

Maybe even Hobo Pointe or whatever it is called down along the Duwamish, where West Side Invite happened?

Or maybe Andres hidden fire pit near Lake Washington. Sorry Langston, the idea of cooking or eating food at the superfund firepit makes me... um. Squeamish.

Frink Park? It is a whopping 3 blocks from me. I would support this.

this is what we get for chasing away all the organizy people. i bet with a few phone calls we could convince the parks department to just install one for us at their expense.

Port Parks, hidden places, superfund sites, shady places, relocated bbqs? no, no, no.

Myrtle Edwards is one of the few Seattle parks with a western facing shoreline suitable for post-work, sunset viewing BBQs, it is close to downtown and the lack of designated parking and long length make it less of a land grab compared to Alki or Golden Gardens. This would be BBQ pits for all of Seattle to enjoy you see. The advantage of charcoal bbqs for bikes is you only haul your fuel and food and there is hardly any thing to haul hoe if you dispose of your trash on site.

Spring applications are due in 6 Days, Monica, you live close, I guess your our neighborhood contact.

Hmm, I'm not sure this will work. This is a funding source, but Seattle parks permission would be required for the install. Seattle parks is good at saying no.

Monica should request BBQ's via official channels. She'll be refused, and Derrick can install a stolen one. Then, when they investigate the illegally transplanted BBQ, they'll blame Monica.
WIN.

Monica, meet bus. Or even better - Aaron Bradford.

As your lawyer I recommend the latter course of action.
