The *5th*annual waffle ride will be on Thursday, February 4.
This year I’ll be providing all waffle irons, ingredients and extension cords.
Others are encouraged to focus their creative potential on toppings.
Some lights and beverages would also be nice.
ALL THE ELECTRICITY IS BELONG TO ME.
If you want to cook something, bring your own energy source.
(special exception if you are Southern and work at R&E)
The Dead baby ride is the next day. If you take Friday off, you can stay up way too late burning and breaking things and then slalom right in to another bike disaster.

I'll be coming home from Cabo earlier that day. Waffles & Sunburns, sounds like a natural combination to me. Color me excited.

Me too, I just don't remember which year. 2006 or 2007?
I brought 2 kegs with about 1.5 gallons of homebrew beer each on that ride, maybe I'll do it again (only not homebrew because I haven't brewed in a long time). No promises.

I'm bringing home brew brandy (infused vodka) we might need some club soda though.

I recall that ride. Not my anniversary, but my first waffle ride, I think. I don't remember the year either. Good beer though.

That was definitely 2007. Not my first ride, but I think it was my first waffle ride. I remember that the homebrew was really good. I got a flat in the serfas tires I was rocking on my surly. A few days later I got a second flat and replaced the tires with Vittorias I bought at RC. I very distinctly remember putting on my new tires outside of RC on my way to go windsurfing on an unseasonably warm and lovely saturday in February.
I know it was 2007 because I did not have the crosscheck until late March 2006. I also did not start windsurfing until January 2007.
Wish I was there to rock the turkish coffee for y'all. Have fun!

You guys had better be planning some *EPIC* toppings.
Hmm. Thinking about safety peanut butter as a waffle topping.

I'm strongly considering taking friday off. I have the urge to wake up confused in a park somewhere far from home. [/list]

Pro tip: Sleeping in a Seattle park is a *much* better idea than sleeping in an eastside park.

if we don't get bothered while waffling and all the noise ruckus that waffling causes, i doubt we'll cause any more of a ruckus while camping. worst that will happen is that we'll get funny looks from morning bike commuters.
i wouldn't be tenting, id be sleeping bagging it on a table. although ive been known to do some "tenting" while in a sleeping bag

What are you talking about? The people of Mercer Island are loving, gracious, giving and accepting. I've heard nothing but good things about how open and accepting they are of those who can't afford a $798,000 median home value.
edit: that said, Derrick doing some "tenting" does come pretty close to "visual blight".

I think a Yuppie housewife is going to call 911 when she sees you on her 6:00AM jog.

im positive that i could talk myself out of any problems that sleeping in a park would cause. white 30's urban professional in a hundred dollar sleeping bag with a nice bike and a place to live across town... cops would giggle and tell me to go home and be more careful next time, possibly a lecture about a park not being a campground.
may be slightly more complicated if there were 20 of us. but that might just make the cops giggle even more before doing their jobs and telling us to be on our way. if it even came to that.
