http://gomeansgo.org/2010/02/02/seattles-first-midnight-mystery-ride-219/

Feb 19th. Friday. 11pm. Twilight Exit. Ride at midnight.

Go Means Go is doing it. Ryan, you are the man for this. I sincerely dig the MMR in PDX and try to hit it whenever I'm there and it's happening.

If you haven't gone before, historically the MMR in PDX it's like Point83 meets Dead Babys meets everyone else in town. And it's timeslot and secret and changing start location every month tends to weed out Critical Mass type attendance. I don't know what GoMeansGo has planned for it, but there is much potential here for late night booze and bikes and fires.

Two thumbs up.

So the point is to make it hard for people to come?

I'm hanging with some SUMMERBABES that night be we'll see.

The PDX MMR post-FBB was always a blast but I'm a non native and a 5-mile radius will bring me new places.

yeah, i'm intrigued to see if the seattle mmr folks can find any cool new places.

as far as making it hard to show up, well, at least it doesn't have a cover.

With the advent of twitter on phones, a changing start location isn't that big of a deal anymore. But it could keep it interesting.

MMR = a .83 ride that starts later and has more rules.

That sounds fun!

Well, I can see beer stops with over 50 people getting out of hand and causing the problem of "hour long party in QFC parking lot".

Of course, it is legal to drink and ride in WA, and not in OR, which I understand to be the genesis of the problem for PDX MMR participants and the beer stop.
Also, the PPB are a bunch of hillbilly assholes, whereas the SPD seems a little bit more interested in keeping the peace and avoiding paperwork.

Actually I've learned the point is to compete with your band that night for attendance.

That said, in a perfect world I'm down to try and hit both. I didn't realize this was on the same night as your shindig Henry.

Just a heads up, this is not a GMG thing, although I think Ryan and any of us that help w/ GMG stuff are stoked and will be there for sure.

Vancouver's midnight mass lasted like 20 minutes before everyone else split. I've only done 1 though and I don't read about it much.

And all they talked about was bikes. It was like I was in fourth grade again with Pokémon. I don't miss Pokémon.

This is more of a Magic: The Gathering / Dungeons & Dragons kind of club.

Let's get some goddamn shadowrun action happening ITT.

Unrelated: I'm pretty down to do this bike ride.

This should be highly doable. I think we'll probably be done by 10:00.

Greg summed it up- not a GMG thing, though we will be in attendance

Scott I'm with you in being excited for this. The MMR has been lots of fun in Portland, and brought about the first time I rode my bike through fire and a pretty epic crash that I still have scars from.

I have been trying to get Yeoman Chambers to sex me since I first put it in. All she'll do is feed my fish. I find it amusing I'm worse with virtual women than real ones.

She won't sex you until a certain point in the game, no matter how charming you are. Keep at it, boy. That yeoman will be yours.

I'm glad we know how to start a fire and talk to cops.

By any metric you want to apply, I think you can call the first ever MMR ride a success. Fires. Cops. Bikes. Embarrassing pictures. 5 point. Hangovers.

Carry on
