Can someone please explain it to me? Sometimes it "searches", and sometimes it "other verb entirelys". I don't know what that other verb is, nor what preconditions trigger one verb vs. the other.

Let me also express:
1) This is my 3rd favorite homepage
3) I understand pro-bono nerd sweat makes this place happen
8) I really am satisfied and grateful overall

But, for instance, "linux toaster" found the thread I was looking for, but my initial attempt with "run linux" returned the Waffle Ride thread as the first result. I mean, that was an awesome thread, no disrespect. But the word "linux" doesn't appear even once.

Someone with ambition (read: no one here) could replace the search box with a google search box that does just that.

"search for any terms" "search for all terms" important first variable to select.
below that, many more important variables to focus your search.

it's different than google and not quite as basic, but once you set your perameters correctly, it gets the job done somewhat effectively.

also, im in a rush and am not going to change a damn thing about it right now.
