Does anyone have a Tandem i can borrow for the FHR?

As Amanda and I rush towards our 10 year anniversary we've decided to take a new approach figuring out how to break up. The double kayak didn't quite push us over the edge ... surely this will.

You're welcome to use my shitty mountain tandem with slick tires. It has very low gears!

Low gears are a big plus. Thanks Joby!

You can borrow ours if you want something a little different.

We've been riding a tandem on and off for 13 years and it hasn't broken us up yet. We also own a tandem kayak though.

A tandem did not go well for me and Greg, but I am bossy and have control issues. Apparently stroker is not a good position for these traits.

Romantic Tandems tend to work poorly if both partners are serious cyclists. They work much better when the person on the back sorta thinks bikes are dumb.

this summer when I borrowed your tandem this applied. She is a marathon runner, was in town for a race and thinks cyclists are lazy, but now appreicates drunk cycling tandems.

But we had a fine time riding BTM/Beardo's tandem in the Fall!

Our resolution was that I am the stoker. This is fine with me. I can navigate from the back, it just involves more yelling "turn turn turn!"

Don't think Clair and I will be doing the tandem on the FHR this year, so mine is available, too. Only catch it that it's stored at Miles and Adam's house. I'm sure we can work something out, though.

Sure Gretchen.

206-354-9537 (or it is on Facebook).

The front position fits kind of like a 20" MTB frame, the rear kind of like a 16-17" one (but the rear can be adjusted to fit pretty much anyone from 4'10" to 6' tall). I'm guessing it should fit you two fine.

It looks like this, but with fenders:

It has low gears.
