hi, my name is ben.
I, like many, like to enjoy my favorite pastimes on my birthday.
namely: riding, camping, drinking, and general dirt appreciation.
with this in mind, i have planned a camping ride for MAY 8TH
the ride is unsupported and free.
that means you must bring everything you want, including gear, food, booze, handmade fishing supplies, womenfolk, lawyers, inflatable donuts, ass fireworks, waffle batter, the man of your dreams, and beer.
we will be making one stop at belfair for beer/food/booze.
after that your pickins get pretty slim, barely a glorified gas station.
that said, we are mostly adults. this is nam, there are no rules.
if you want to pool your money and go in on beer/booze/food be my guest.
if you want to drive out, be my guest.
if you want to shuttle someone else's shit out there, be my guest.
it is truly the ron paul of group bike camping trips.
contrary to popular belief, the camp is nearly accessible with a car.
there is about a 1/4 mile walk down a ~300ft easily rideable hill to get into the camp.
the camp is abandoned and thus has no utilities, no water, no (decent) bathrooms, no host, no specific spots, no fees, no shelters.
come prepared.
meetup under the viaduct by the downtown ferry terminal, the same place as the fhr.
we'll all board the 10:00am FERRY TO BREMERTON together.
the fare is $7.90.

Nice. I've been to Brown Creek, last year the night after the Gold Mtn. trip. This time I am NOT hiking my bike over the Satsop trail.

I still like it when a car hauls my food, beer, whiskey, propane, firewood, and emergency group tarp.
As with last year, Ben has picked a destination and declaired it to be so.
I however am determined to not have Ben Country be so-so.
So.... I will pick up where his Ben-ness's decree leaves off and organize Ferry/Food/Booze. Starting in April I will be accepting $20 bills with your name.
Newbs: This means you. If you plan on coming, you haul your own repair kit/sleeping kit/mess kit. So buy a sleeping bag, find a tent, and mount a rack in the next 7 weeks. Also, 'No Pets'

everyone, make sure to tell andre all about your food allergies, pescitarianism, beer preferences, stubborn rashes, possible tent organizations, bad decisions, what you're gonna wear, medications, theories of ferry scheduling, and/or that you're just not gonna make it.
'cause i was just gonna decide the campspot in march and assume all of you would magically be there when i arrived.

So Andre, without sag-wagon access how do you plan on facilitating the awesomeness? Is everyone going to be assigned a bundle at the end of the road to schlep to camp?

I'm running a private sag wagon service. We'll carry your stuff out there for $10/lb. Also spots under my tarp will be priced by an auction system and i'll have pbrs for $3 for 16oz can.

I'm the sag-wagon for food. I'm planning on driving most of the way, then making lots of trips with my trailer to haul stuff up to the camp. I'll have it all setup by the time people arrive. Hopefully I'll do some mountain biking earlier in the day too to check out surround area.
I probably won't have room to sag camping stuff for people though.
