Wow, that picture is pretty freaking sweet, what camera was used?

I agree that Ms. Jeni should be Ben Country's designated Whiskey Supervisor!
(Jeni, please ensure I don't get me too much! I am either really really good or really bad on Whiskey)

it's the least i can do, since i will not be consuming a drop of liquor myself. beard said he'd make me a nametag. hopefully this means i will not fall and split my face open like the last time i went camping.

If you have a small pack saw bring it. Don't bother with a hatchet. We'll need to find dryish wood on site for the fire. The big wet log rounds will make better stools than things to try to burn.

In the past this strange creature emerges to gather and cut massive amounts of wood. I think his name is Joe Ball.

That guy is a felled tree's worse nightmare.

Something like this
http://www.rei.com/product/730550
is what i use, the sven is on my to-buy list eventually but a folder is smaller to pack.

They are also called pruning saws so any hardware or garden store (even grocery outlet) has a version like this. They may even be cheaper.

Ben, I gotcha on bocce, croquet and other assorted sporting goods.

I'm riding, but a friend of mine is driving my car out, so I'm open to additional alcohol and cripple requests.

Quoted For Truth. worse case if we don't buy all the beer? you can drive it back and drink it later. no downside!

Absolutely.

I'm almost sure I'll be hung over enough to drive down to the ferry dock, so you can BYOB and offload shit into the car there too.

My car squadron is planning to bring beer. Is this an attempt to organize? Cause I was just going to throw in 4-5 suitcases of something. Natty ice? Schlitz?

I'm just gonna bring a keg. We can roll it down the hill to the campsite and when it's empty I'm sure one of you fuckers will throw it in the fire and it'll be fine.

Or three 24s of Rainer and/or PBR and a handle or two.

Due to entirely not paying attention until the apparent last minute, I am not prepared bike-wise for hauling myself and my gear however, if there is a car with extra butt space, I do have all the necessary gear for camping. Anyone have room for a paying tag-along. I will happily fund gas, beer, etc. in exchange for hauling my carcass.

Google Map

Here is the google map link with the turns till you get to W Skokomish Valley Rd. Then it is 14.5 miles to go.

My GPS has the route loaded, I'm overpacked (NW weather, ah!), and drinking coffee to get a cleanse before heading into the woods. See some of you on the 12:35 ferry.

I have my geared bike back in working order, though I still lack a trailer, rack or paniers, etc. so another option would be if I could bribe someone with extra hauling capacity to meet me prior to heading to the ferry (Ballard). Basically just my tent and sleeping bag and whatever other items I cannot fit on my back safely or comfortably. If there are any bribable folk, PM me or hit me up here in this thread... please!! As far as the bribe, name your price!

Another option would be my crappy-looking but perfectly serviceable hybrid, which I no longer ride but still own. I took it to Suiattle in August and it has both a rack and panniers that I won't be using, as I do not have a rack on the bike I ride now and do have car space to get my shit carted back and forth.

If you are around my height (5'6"), it should work for you. Just needs air in the tires and oil on the chain. PM me if you're interested and we'll see about working something out.

Probably easier to find a ride, but if you get desperate this is an alternative I can offer.

I've recently gone out on a recon mission and discovered that conditions are nearly perfect for an extended safety conference on wheels.

Currently scheduled conference sessions include:
9:30am - Pre-conference safety meeting under the bridge.
10:15am - Aft Deck Safety Cruise
12:00pm - Mid Day Marijuana Mele
1:30pm - First Flat Fatty
3:00pm - Pee Break Pipe Party
5:00pm - Ben's Birthday Blunt

Surely more will be scheduled as we get (dis)organized.

Let's get hella confused and ride bikes!

There is an increasing chance of my car being added to this list. That means someone can do me a lot of favors for being packed out or helping pack stuff out. Unless someone has a spare bike rack, space will be limited to one person + their bike and gear. If someone wants to go who needs a ride in, let me know as this will help me make my final decision one way or another.
