last year we ran into a guy on a fixed gear out for a leisurely ride around town. he was in seattle for his day job of riding that thing (the big google trike) around all the trails and roads doing recording. we got him drunk and showed him a good time then sent him on his way.
I thought we dead ended trying to continue on the railroad grade trail through to Snoqualmie Pkwy. Usually we detour through Fall City for some delicious Small Fryes which is reason enough.

I've been eyeing that route on the map for a while, but haven't checked it out.
The main reason i always take Preston Fall City Rd into town is because i hate those muddy switchbacks which are basically unrideable.
This route basically trades a steep ass hill going up to Lake Alice for the steep ass hill going up to the SVT on the north side of the valley, and eliminates a fried food stop.

it looks like it was funded/permitted but placed on hold in 2007 and isn't implemented yet from what i can tell. the missing section is where it launches over that creek ravine, i believe.
there is however a new set of trails that head due south through the development called "snoqualmie ridge" - i found this very quaint hand-drawn map on the internets:
i don't think i'd bypass small fryes for a climb up that ridge.
Those fuckin' hippies at the stranger should start paying me in weed.
Yeah, I'm sure once they start paying their freelancers period and offering their full-time employees health insurance they'll totally get you back. Totally bro!
But hey, nobody reads the weekly, times, pi, etc ... so they got that going.

Hey, that's the night where Pete almost got me smeared by a freight train on our way to the 9 lb! That was a really fun .83 day, and now I miss the summer. And BBQ. Hey tittlefitz, how's that going?

Did I trip? I don't remember tripping at all. Even without tripping I was still, literally, fractions of a second from being .83's first fatality. Not complaining; that night was awesome and staring UP at the headlight of a freight train (those fuckers are huge, even more so when it's coming right at you) is a memory I'll have till I die.
More just making a note of it: don't follow Pete through train tracks. This may wind up in the TOS at some point.
