End-o-March, kids.
Come get drunk and ride around in a circle. It's a big circle.
South end of Greenlake, Friday 3/26 @ midnight.
12:00 Pre-snack and drink, talk about racing
12:15 Yell at people to get on the starting line.
12:30 Semi-fancy ceremony honoring the winners.
Prizes include the usual selection of nice beers that suit my fancy.
I'll contemplate laminating those two-sided cards I've been carrying for a month.
Alternate contest:
-- Audience votes on the best performance of an ode to your bike; winner gets a sixxer to themselves and spoke-card declaring them .83 Poet of the Month.

I'm working on a song, which is sort of poetry except that I'm going to (attempt to) sing it. Hopefully I actually make it tonight. Maybe you should bring earplugs?

I'm starting to think iambic felatio, bt I don't know if we can pull that off.

It's poetry in motion.

Oh lord. I am going to strap a mini-BBQ and propane to my bike. I will bring a pack of veggie-dogs, a pack of honest-to-god dogs, buns and a squeeeeee-bottle of Grey Poupon. And prizes.
You are invited to bring additional food for the grill, but space MAY be limited.
Also, has anyone seen Wreyford? He is supposed to help me with this.

I had a hilarious blowout on my way home — at the bottom of Ravenna I decided it would be a good idea to sail over the triangular grassy median thing, but burped my front tire on one of the curbs and pinch-flatted the tube with three holes.
The last time I burped it was from hitting a family of raccoons (3 out of 5!) back in the fall, but that time I managed to just pop the bead and keep the tube intact.
Hopefully my the Hetre on my front wheel isn't cut, I want to ride those fuckers until the casing fails or the tread wears off, and I think I'm past the halfway point already. It spent at least 3000 miles on my rear wheel, and it's gotten another 600 or so on the front since I rotated them.

Hey, great race, and thanks to Rogelio for letting us throw this one. Had a good turnout, and everyone seemed to have a good time with hot dogs and beer -like a true sporting event- sukkas. Here's the rundown.
1st: Felix
1st girl: Amy
2nd: Rob
3rd: Peter
DFL: Kyleen
Poetry Winner: Kyleen who actually sang a song!
Fucking Torrey raced for some reason, even though we made it well aware to him that he was innelegible. And I guess he came in top 5-ish which didn't even count.
AndrewW came out, made fun of our race and called us all hipsters before the race, which was cool. I miss seeing Andrew at events. Good luck this racing season Andrew, and good job last night showing us hipsters how a real bike race is won BTW. 5th, or 6th in your first race of the season isn't to bad, even if it is around 2.8 miles, and a co-ed field.
Justin got pretty drunk and layed on the ground for a while which was sweet.
I almost convinced Caroline to sit on the grill because she was cold. Well, not really, but I told her to, and I was kidding, and she didn't.
Scott twittertrolled from greenlake and we all lol'd.
Monica looked very smashing in her smart hat. (Ihave your other one kinda like it, only in black)
Oh, we had at least 4 cars representing point83 at the race. That was pretty awesome.
Oh, and Justin spilled most of the hot dogs on the ground, so we had tasty greenlake path-crusted weenies.
Kyleen sang a song about her bike and riding it with no saddle, and some other shit I can't remember, but it was fucking hella-rious and awesome.
Yeah, Lolz.
Justin brought his camera, but forgot to bring a memory card. Oh well
Jenni was fucking HAMMERED! and super fun, and she took pictures.
Hmmmm, what else. No one got peed on.

Yes, I was very drunk. Spring break interrobang
But only 20% of the hotdogs wound up on the ground. Which is pretty good odds. It's just that the people who ate one of those were really vocal, skewing our perception.
Anyway, this was a great time, and we totally figured out how to bring a grill without hospitalizing Wreyford.

Actually it was my second race of the season, and an improvement over my 8th-place finish in my last one. :) I figure if I come to three more, I can work my way up.
