Bike Sabbath this week will be on a quest for cake, ice cream, and other treats. Maybe we didn't get enough Peeps last Sunday. Maybe we're all just sweet toothy. Maybe someone's turning 30 this week. Or all of the above. No reason required to reward ourselves with cake, cupcakes, ice cream, or all three if we ride some hilly miles around the city looking for it!

I spent some time collecting good-lookin' options (it's exciting to search google maps for "cake") in various neighborhoods, which should make for a fun ride of more frequent, but shorter, fuel stops. Y'all should speak up if any of these are places you really want to hit (or really don't) - and by all means, suggest more! I don't think I've tried any of these except Husky Deli and Columbia City, but I like the element of surprise.

Possibilities:
    Upper Crust Bakery (Magnolia)
    Wink Cupcakes (Queen Anne)
    Madison Park Bakery
    North Hill Bakery (Cap Hill)
Bluebird (homemade ice cream - Cap Hill - open 'til 10pm)
    Columbia City Bakery
    Delite Bakery (Filipino, Beacon Hill)
    Macrina (SODO)
Original Bakery (Best cake doughnuts in Seattle? Fauntleroy)
Salvadorean Bakery (looks amazing and also has food - White Center)
Husky Deli (yummy ice cream, also sandwiches - West Seattle)
Full Tilt Ice Cream (open 'til 10pm; looks like a good final destination no matter what, as they also feature games and beer and have locations in U District, White Center & Columbia City!)

I'll have a friend in town riding a borrowed bike if all goes according to plan. See you Sundae!

Also note we will be doing a decent distance because...

1. It supposed to be nice all weekend (no worries about crappy weather bumping into sunday). We better take advantage of it.

2. We did crap for distance last sunday and want to get back to what we do best. Riding.

3. And because it appears that each rider will be consuming roughly 3-5 trillion calories throughout the course of the ride? At least that would be my plan...

Only 25 miles but they were pretty hilly. As always, a very pleasant time.

The video peter (saccade) posted was exactly how our day went.

Jon is right. Very hilly. Elevation of 1633 feet. Good job everyone. Thank to Jeni for theme and locations.

This map isnt quite right. We meant to do this but we really went down Olson Pl SW, through South Park, then back tracked a bit on Marginal to Michigan. Which added a bit more distance then this. WRONG JON WRONG!!!!

I should have added the following disclaimer: I got particularly lost between the Salvadorean Bakery and Full Tilt, so the section between White Center and Columbia City was an educated guess. Please don't hit me, Monica!
