So, one of my co-workers had her bike stolen Tuesday from our work parking lot ( off her car rack [1] ). The rack was a hitch-mount rack with a locking arm [2]. Her car was evidently parked in between coverage of the security cameras in our lot.
The bike:
Black Cannondale R400 - 52 or 54 frame.
Drop bars with a clamped-on fixed position aero-bars
Black handlebar tape
DT shifters
Shimano 105 derailleurs
Double up front, seven speed (?) rear
Platform pedals
If anyone spots it on Craigslist or wherever, text or call me at: 425 681 0523
[1] She actually does ride her bike to work most of the week, she was bringing an older bike of hers in to lend to someone else for a while.
[2] But evidently a shitty one, since whoever did it was able to just joggle/wrench it out of the way.

I swear to god, it's not the one I'm riding!

I'm sorry son, but I'm afraid I might have to perform a cavity search to make sure you're not hiding any other other pilfered bike parts...

Soooooooo, evidently my co-worker recovered her bike yesterday.
She was out riding home, still really close to work, and saw a kid (13 years or so) riding what looked like her bike. She asked him to stop and when he did grabbed it and said "That's my bike."
Him: No it isn't, it's my brother's!
Her: It's my bike, and it's stolen.
Him: We found it in a ditch!
Her: It's my bike, and if you want to dispute it, let's call the police.
And then he ran for the hills.
The thief didn't even bother to take off the really big aerobars or anything. I think they took off a handlebar bag or something and that was it.
