I rented a car Thursday night until this evening. $52 at Alamo + gas, win! Sorry I couldn't make the ride Ben, here's why.

Thursday -- drive to BC & drink from stash of Canadian hidden underneath the Pepsi in the back of my ex's grandmother's refrigerator. (pic missing)

Friday -- head southbound and hit the duty free at the border. They were giving away two liters of rum for $25. That'll cost you about $56 in WA or $72 in BC. And that CD just came in from the library after Joby's ride. So I had to, right?

Next I hit the 24 hour walmart at Tulalip. Great deals on tall boys of the high life. I enjoy the high life. Buying a few now allows me to save money buying at gas stations on the ride. Oh and I've wanted to try Beck's for a while because apparently their non-alchoholic version tastes just like the regular version (foreshadowing?) so I picked up a six pack of that too. I mean, I've got a car, might as well stock up on some heavy stuff that would normally stress my panniers pretty good, right?

Saturday -- Drive out to Duvall for a ride on the snoqualmie valley trail. Hit the Safeway. You know, RAGBRAI is coming up, I should start training for the usually limited selection with a little Michelob Ultra.

Oh and chances are I'll take Amtrak in the near future so I should pick up some Kokanee Gold to smuggle on board since my last case only has two left. (pic of previous train smuggling consumptions)

Sunday -- still got this car, might as well pick up some heavy grocerys at Trader Joe's. Mmm delicous Hef for summer. And flyer wine, okay!

And now I'm sitting at home and running the math. I purchased $87 in swill. Renting a car for the same period of time cost $89 including gas and a trip to Canada.

tldr; I purchased a lot of booze (60 bottles/cans beer, 1 bottle wine, 2 liters alcohol = $87) this weekend while renting a car. Was it because I had a car, because I ride bikes with .83, solid money/liver saving & load carrying logic, or because of Swazye?

I voted reasoning, but before I read your post. So my vote isn't for "your" reasoning it is for the reasoning we all do related to LIFE. And I have a good buzz right now, so I may have a problem...

daddy drinks 'cause Baby cries. Proven fact.

Super tempted to put a couple cases of good beer in Jeff's car to drive to Iowa for me. I'm sure we wouldn't mind another 50lbs of ballast, right?
