This year I'm riding the STP Oregon Trail style (pirating the ride too, of course). What does that mean? It means I haul a Haulin' Colin trailer that looks like a covered wagon behind me the whole way.

It also means I probably can't ride the train back. Is anybody getting a ride back in a pickup truck that can haul this thing? Last year's trailer is pictured below, and this year's is a bit larger.

Alternatively, I've got a friend with a pickup I can borrow, but nobody to drive it down there. If you want free gas (and a truck) to drive down there and hang out in PDX for the weekend, let me know.

Warning: I'm beardless in the photo below.

Hell yeah. I took some discarded sections of fence from a nearby house that's about to get bulldozed. The only thing left to do on the trailer is sewing up and attaching the canvas.

Everyone else should dress as Indians and ambush Remington's wagon train somewhere on Lake Washington Boulevard.

Hey, last year I made it to Puyallup before the trailer broke, so at least let me get that far. After that, you can ambush away. I'll probably die of cholera anyway.

That's racist.

Everyone should assert their sovereign rights to the trail and build a casino as a means to supplement their tribe's right to exist.

Please make sure to hunt for squirrels to provide yourself with food over the course of the ride.

Two. Do you really expect me to pull that thing 200 miles in one day? :)

Jess Wahlund is the winner of this contest, and will be spending a weekend of tax-free shopping in Portland, Oregon with all transportation costs covered! Yay!

Does anybody have a bull costume that could be re-purposed as an ox costume?

My horns are still mounted to my furry helmet if you want to borrow the whole thing.

It's not out of the realm of possibility. Also, sanity check.

Well, I made it. Anyone want to get a keg setup in this thing for this Thursday's ride?

Remi, saw you swimmin' in a river on the first day and gave you a cheesy fist bump on the second day around mile 190ish. Well done, the covered wagon was clearly the best rig on the road....though that dude with the huge long distance unicycle was pretty amazing....and those elliptical-machine-bicycles scared the crap out of me

Swimming was amazing. You should have stopped, because that place had a bitchin' rope swing. :)

I actually thought those elliptical bikes were pretty cool, because now all those people that train on those useless machines have a way to actually get somewhere with that motion.

Also, you gotta love a unicycle with aerobars. That's wild. I need to get a unicycle...

The search recent photos feature on flickr is pretty exciting right now. Here's one of the unicycle. I think there were two, and one finished in one day.

More are showing up of the trailer too:
