Thursday the 5th (the day before the Dead Baby downhill), We'll be having a special outing.

Important components of this experience include Whiskey (lots), Lasers (even more) a tandem slip and slide, and version of Russian Roulette developed in Belgium as a commercial product for children.

To further enhance our enjoyment and as an outreach gesture to the Bicycle Community (TBC), each of you is requested to bring a new participant to the evening's festivities.
You are urged to consider inviting individuals who are not obvious good fits for the organization. Diversity!

In the immortal words of Jake Ryder, we'll travel at a slow pace that everyone can enjoy.

Sorry doesn't count, he's not new. I invited Aaron to .83 in 2005. I thought he'd make the group more interesting. I was correct.

I did my recruiting at RAGBRAI. Unfortunately one of the ladies I met later drunkenly crashed herself into the ER and won't be out with us for a few weeks.

More lasers than whiskey? I always thought the inebriants generally outstripped the ridership two to one. There aren't enough lasers in Seattle to make this statement true.

Pre-funk option that is bound to be a madhouse.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/restaurants/2012495445_freeloader04.html

Get free cheese hot dogs at Po Dogs for one sweet hour, from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5.

Po Dogs (1009 E. Union St., on Seattle's Capitol Hill) is offering free Tillamook-laden dogs to celebrate the company's Loaf Love Tour, comprised of three traveling 1966 VW buses designed to look like cheddar loafs. The buses will roll around Seattle until Aug. 16, passing out cheese samples, coupons and buttons. For more info, check out www.loaflovetour.com.

Derrick, you should invite Aaron Bradford. I'm inviting the bike thief-tweakers from in front of the QFC. Gibson and I began our outreach program Saturday night.

So, Christine's friend from England is in Seattle this week and would like to come on the ride. Problem being, her bike is Salem or something. If anyone has a loaner that would be sweet. I don't really know the size she needs, but judging fron pictures I would assume sonething tall. If not I'll be forced to bring Sway as my n00b.

From the main NOAA alert page: "CANCEL WATCH: Geomagnetic A-index of 30 or greater predicted
Cancel Serial Number: 91
Original Issue Time: 2010 Aug 03 1952 UTC

Comment: It appears that the two coronal mass ejections observed on 1 August
merged into one event that became geoeffective late on 3 August."

So this is not very likely to happen.

I am bringing a woman I slept with once! She likes to drink! Roge hits on her a bunch!

this n00b has a 55 or so faggin she can borrow. I'm 5'10" and it's a teeny bit small for me but I ride it all the time anyway. or, if that doesn't suit her I could ride the faggin and she could ride my schwinn which is a little bigger. I live near summit tavern and I forgot both my helmet and my lights today so I was planning to roll home after work anyway - I could meet whomever there just before the ride.

just let me know if she's interested and we can work something out!

Everyone bring a swimsuit. Seriously. Unless you want to Slip-and-slide in your panties.

Also, if lack of wheels is keeping anyone else from riding, the Lafky Bicycle Lending Library is open for business.

FWIW- I reckon my pregame will take place at the sculpture park where they're having a farmers market/bands/bar, and I'm hoping funnel cake.

ECS: can I wear my helmet
?
me: uh yes?

I'm pretty amped for tonight.

Todd set my n00b up with a bike. I've never met the girl so I hope it fits her. Also I think Sway should come. He's a bag full of problems.

I'm terrible at picking pre-funks. You choose. Somewhere with food and outdoor seating would be nice.
