My friend Jacob just got his bike stolen out of his fucking LIVING ROOM. Jesus. Anyway, here's the description:

"Blus Trek 500 elance. It had blue velocity rims, honjo fenders blue cable housing, eggbeater pedals, bar end shifters, a green brooks saddle, and lots of scratches on the frame."

There's a picture on facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=597408296#!/photo.php?pid=4796176&id=597408296 but I suck at teh interwebs, as you can see.

Someone broke into his house? Can you see where it was from out on the sidewalk?

Thanks for the photo help, Kevin!

I don't know the details of how it was stolen. I haven't been to his place, so I don't know if you can see inside the house from the street or not. But damn, getting a bike swiped from inside your own house is muy malisimo.

Anything else taken? Locked force/broken?

I ask because it was probably a neighbor, or some friend of a friend that came over recently.

Or someone was walking down the street and used the dark side of the force to sense that there was a bike inside a living room.

Good point. I just sent him a message asking that. We'll see...

That doesn't sound random at all. Did they take anything else? I'll keep my eyes open.

Yeah, I saw him last night. He said that he thinks it's either a house mate or a friend of a house mate. The only things that were stolen are his bike nad another house mate's rent money.

He's moving at the end of the month. It really sucks.

Hey, I just heard from Jacob:

"it was recovered. someone found it in an alley two blocks from my place, reported it to the police who then found my ad on craigslist. Nothing was taken off it. all the lights and everything are still there. I really lucked out. thanks for all the support."

YAY! All is right in the world, at least for now.
