BRING OUT YER DEAD!!!
In anticipation of the Wreyfords imminent demise from car wreck, mishap, freak occurrence, medical malpractice, and/or act of god - and in cooperation with Professor Daves Crematorium and Junk Hauling Services, we the living are having a rolling wake for the OBVIOUSLY soon to be dead Wreyford boys on Thursday the 19th.
Show up to Westlake Center with a black armband at 7pm to mark the occasion. You should also bring your Irish whiskey and your singing voices. This will not to be a somber affair under any circumstances. Like all good traditional Irish wakes, this will be a bittersweet affair involving a metric butt-ton of booze, reminiscing, stories, lies, lols, bar fights, singing, and a pile of problems. Bring cab fare, you might need it.
At the end of the evening we will hold final services, everyone can say a few words about the Wreyford boys if you haven't already done so, and when we're all done we'll finish the night out by floating them out into a body of water where we will shoot flaming arrows at them until they catch fire; or until we run out of flaming things to fling at them, which ever comes first. Or maybe we can have a 21 bottlerocket salute. Whatever. We'll figure something out.
That is all.

Meg, I like it.
If you play an instrument and care to bring it - hit me up.

this town could seriously benefit from a second line. I know we have a tuba player, anybody else play brass?

I'll see if I can scam my way out of band practice, absorb (BORG!) a Haulin Colin trailer and bring my sousaphone. NOLA 2nd Line is my bread and butter.

turns out we already have a VERY good 2nd line here in town. Catch one of their shows, they throw it down. http://tubalubaband.com/

Any suggestions on where to get black armbands? I'm not good at this costume stuff.

we should try to invite the medics. They've got to be getting on a first name basis by now.

buy a black tablecloth at goodwill/value village, and bring it to westlake with a set of scissors. armbands for everyone!

Prefunk: Chapel. It seems fitting. And since I'm not riding my bike I could walk there or whatever dead people do.

It's their funeral - if they want a prefunk at the Chapel Bar, so be it.
Do you have an alternate suggestion, or are you just here to nay-say?

The dead - or the about to be dead - are to report to Hater Town at 530 or 6pm. Your Hearse awaits.

i guess that means we really haven't ever had a ride where we just rode bikes and got drunk. i mean, there was the college inn pub ride, the dick's on 45th ride, the jack block park ride, the goldies ride, the crescent ride, the rimrock steakhouse ride, the carkeek ride, the roanoke ride, the knarr ride, the barrel ride, the canturbury ride, the fauntleroy ride, the cal anderson park ride, the bit saloon ride, the buckaroo ride, the ballard locks ride, the discovery park ride, and a few hundred others.
damn, i see what you mean. every time we set out to just ride bikes and get drunk we end up going somewhere or doing something! what the fuck, people?

I think the beef is with "themed" rides. Sometimes they are fun and sometimes they become tedious.
yeah, but you can't say the combination tachohut was a "theme" in the same way that waffles or bulls are - it was just a request of a place to visit on the route. if anything was the theme last week it was awesome people riding around the lake and lame people getting car rides home.

For those keeping track, lame people are: Nick, myself, Thalia, Alex Wetmore, Devin and John MsG.
Now I know what it feels like to be ostracized from Lee's super awesome adventure club I feel better about inviting Aaron Goss out for a ride in September.
