So, this probably belongs over in the Routes and Trails forum but the timeline I'm on here begs for more eyes. We're in the last leg of putting the generator setups together for the Bike Music festival and we need 5 sets of those adapters that couple to the rear skewer.

I thought I had a line on getting the parts I needed but it looks like that's fallen through. Does anyone here know what bike shops in town would carry spare trainer parts? Anyone with a QBP hookup?

Bueller?

I'm confused too, but can add that I always see trainers in the REI returns area, down by rentals. If they are priced like most items down there they will be 10-25% of retail, and well under wholesale.

Ah, I'm looking for the little cup-shaped adapters that screw down on the ends of the rear axle of the bike to hold it to the trainer. Just the machined bits that are on the end of the threaded rods you tighten onto the bike. Like this: http://www.kurtkinetic.com/slotted-cone-p-157-l-en.html except not involving 2 weeks to ship.

@Alex, thanks for the REI tip, I'll check to see what they have. If I'm lucky they might have replacement parts too.

QBP and J&B Importers don't stock anything like that (you can check each at http://aebike.com for QBP, and http://www.jbimporters.com for J&B). It sounds like you'll need to go to the trainer companies directly.

REI has full trainers in the returns area fairly often, but not little parts.

Gotcha, I've been hitting the trainer companies but the ones I talked to weren't going to be able to get those parts in hand soon enough. If REI had got a few of then at low price, that's about the price the individual parts were anyway so I'd just cannibalize the parts I need.

Does anybody have a trainer that they want to get rid of?

I can do a trade for art-work , work trade or baked goods on a weekly basis for a bit.
