I thought I'd hit up Mt Constitution one more time this year.
Joeball & Jimmy & I did this ride in April, it was grand. 43 miles and 3200' of elevation gain. I think I was happier with my CX bike than they were with their MTB's, but it's all good. Park in Anacortes, ride onto the ferry, across the island, up the mountain, corkscrew down the sweet trails. The forecast is solid. Let's go!
Oh yeah, I have climbing plans Sunday up north, so I may have to drive myself.
We can camp Friday night or get an early start Saturday (7:40 ferry?).
C'mon, it's good for ya.

I was noticing the good weather forecast for this weekend, but thinking about another ride. I might bail on that and hit up Mt Constitution instead...so plant me as a maybe.
The other ride thought is a 40 mile dirt loop over Stampede Pass and back. It'd be fine on touring/cx/mtb's.

That ride was a blast, and those trails are sooo nice.
It wasn't the bike, though. You were happier with being in better shape than me.
Personally, I think I would have pinch-flatted on the downhill on my CX bike, it was fun following you and watching you clean it. The only thing I'd change about my MTB if I went again is to put some more road-friendly tires on it (Panaracer Firec XCs suck on blacktop). If I didn't like going so fast downhill then maybe the CX bike.
Anyhows, no but no. I'd love to go but I'll be out of town until saturday night. Have fun.

That sounds like something I would like to do. Would I maybe be OK on a 36x17 singlespeed cyclocross biak? Do you people even know me?

The ride has a couple thousand continous feet of climbing (maybe more, you can look it up), with the steepest sections feeling like they are around 10% grade. If you are comfortable with that on singlespeed then you'd be fine.

Single speed it is then, either that or monster truck touring thing. When are people going? How are they getting there?

I wanna do one of these trips, and my Kogswell is out of commission (putting a damper on my usual culinary extravagance for camping).
I could totally do this on my freshly-dialed singlespeed cyclocross bike (44x19) and give Max a compatriot in keepin it real

Hmmmm. Looks like it will suck for me to get myself from Oly to Anacortes. Also, it will probably cause problems with my Friday party that y'all can come to if you want. I will go into Capitol Forest and think of you instead.
