denny's thread made me think of this. there have been some 'off the forum' rumors about going camnping this weekend if the weather is nice. the weather looks great.
is there any place nearby that is rideable and car accesible, maybe someplace new that isn't middle fork? up 90?
guage interest:
throw out some location ideas:

sarah and I are also looking for an overnight hike sat & sun. Since she only works .7 of full time, she's spent tons of time hiking the nearby areas and has some ideas. Will update tongiht once I talk to her.

'off the hook' rumors about going camping this weekend
I've never camped there. Lee, Andre, and I drove up there last October for some exploration. I won't say it is nicer than Middle Fork, and it has a similar "there could be a meth cook lab RV around the corner" vibe, but it is new to the club. Online reviews suggest that there are better spots than the obvious ones that the three of us checked out.
The general area is beautiful:
With my usual poor form I stomped on Denny's thread suggesting a ride up there (an optional aside to camping, not a required part of camping). This is my rough route proposal:

I don't know the road quality for the whole loop, I've only ridden part of it. The part that I've ridden would be doable with 30mm or larger tires, but would probably be enjoyed more with wider tires (so that you can run a lower pressure on the descents).

if people want to ride, middle fork is always an easy option for people that want to ride, and for people that have to drive. hows about easy middle fork late summer camp trip? i might go up friday if we do that so i have all day satuday for river relaxing. i have room for 3 others.
interest for easy middle fork location? (its nice for me since i have to drive)

On the ride Sweendo told of a scheme he and Alex had concocted that would involve hitting Alex's Stampede Pass loop on Saturday and then meeting Derrick at Middle Fork that night to camp.
Later on Derrick said he was doing some car camping thing up on the Mountain Loop Highway, so he's out.
Given the lack of plan, I'm still set on doing Mt. Constitution with Denny.

lack of planning, plus i didnt want to be a dictator and force a decision = no cohesive solid idea. i ended up making plans to go car camping with other people.
if there is another nice weekend id be game for a late season middle fork trip though.

My ride is still happening, I just took planning to email since most/all of the participants aren't point83 regulars.

this weekend turned out to be otherweise full, but Sarah and I are planning on something next weekend, weather permitting. Hot Springs?

Not that anyone's going to join me, but next weekend, I'll be mountain biking/hiking/getting lost in this.
Whether we camp at Teanaway or not depends mostly on the weather, and whether Elizabeth can teach me how to boil water on our Coleman stove this weekend. Regardless, Teanaway!
