If he hasn't dabbled in witchcraft or has secret messages about china, I'm not voting for him.
Just saying!

CBC's endorsement of Mayor McCheese was pretty stupid. The comments over at the Publicola article are pretty interesting. Folks on each side (hi, DOUG.) saying they left CBC because their political action was either too weak, or too strong.

oh man. bike club drama is sweeping the city. first the dead baby schism, now cascade. how will it rock the very core of point83?
The Cascade Bicycle Club has reversed course and re-hired executive director Chuck Ayers on an interim basis until a permanent director can be found. ... There was also widespread speculation that Ayers was let go because he refused to rein in the club’s sometimes volatile lobbyist, David Hiller, who pushed unsuccessfully for the vulnerable users’ bill and other bike-related legislation last year. Hiller has been directed not to comment on the board’s decision to fire Ayers.
bulldog! say it ain't so!
the omnipresent bike intelligencer plays up this aspect:
Then there’s the thorny issue of the future of David Hiller, Cascade’s singular advocacy voice. Although no one inside the club, including Hiller, will say anything publicly, the clear message is that the David Hiller of old does not fit the Cascade blueprint moving forward. ... For Cascade, Hiller may be a case of can’t live with, can’t live without. A new executive director "may look at David and say, I don’t want any part of that," a board member told us. But a former Cascade executive said, "I wouldn’t be surprised if a new ED said we’ll give David a chance to change, do peer reviews and after three months assess how things are going." That’s if he stays with Cascade — Hiller was rumored headed for Mayor McGinn’s staff earlier this year and has been mentioned as a potential legislative staffer.
and, sorry ben, but truly henry might be the promised leader of the cbc revolution: "Cascade’s technological needs are such that it plans to scour the tech sector for a potential ED."
i've often found henry's presence to help me with my ED issues.

Quote:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
.83 Board of Directors Recalled
After reviewing the minutes of the last two hundred and fifty club meetings, the .83 membership has issued a vote of "no confidence" in the current Board of Directors. The .83 board has served since 2004 and led the club from 7 members to as many as 30 in the 2009-10 bicycling season.
Claimed one .83 member, "In recent years the board has begun treating many of the members poorly."
The outgoing seven-member board consists of:
* Evan Williams
* Jack Daniels
* James Beam
* Wild Turkey
* Frederick Pabst
* Trader Joe
* Jake Ryder
When asked for comment, .83 Executive Director Lando Calrissian replied: "I've done all I can. I'm sorry I couldn't do better, but I got my own problems."
Response from the bicycle community remains to be seen.

When Hiller gets fired from Cascade, the new .83 board should hire him. Particularly if he's willing to be paid in Muscle Milk.

Replace "seems" with "oh hells yeah" and you got it.
It took the whole meeting for this to finally come to the surface and AFTER the CBC Board stated no ultimatium was given to Chuck to fire Hiller. After Chris Weiss and Jim Oswald tried their "hypnotizing chickens" approach of talking at the audience for 25+ minutes during what was supposed to be a 3 minute response Q+A. That and their responses to people demonstrated exactly how much they don't represent me as a member.
The lone CBC Board member who voted against this crap is the only one I don't want ousted.
There will be a CBC Town Hall next month on this. If you are a member, attend, share your pov, and be heard. It's a 13,000+ member organization. It takes only 650 votes of no-confidence to overthrow the current Board.
