my wool socks are still dripping, as are my "water resistant" knickers. i'm less than enthusiastic about putting these clothes back on later today.
i counted three others during my commute. one between green lake and ravenna, one on roosevelt, and one riding the sidewalk on eastlake. traffic was hella backed up on roosevelt, which added a bit of satisfaction to my ride. yes, i was soaked, but i got to work long before they did.

took the morning off to rest a tweaked neck, and hope for the rain to stop. At least the neck feels better, and I miss the days of CRT monitors for the glove-drying

also, i not only rode to work, i also went to the re-store to buy a new kitchen sink. i figured it might come in handy if it keeps raining - i could use it as a raft and paddle home later tonight.

My work has nothing in the way of drying machines. I wandered around the building and even asked my buddy in the cafeteria if they had a warming oven or something. No luck. The hot aisle in the data center sounds real nice right about now.

I saw a surprisingly high quantity of bikes (without fenders) riding by house near Ravenna & Brooklyn....lots of people with the "wet face cringe"

where did you find a rain cape for 10 dollars? you just using an over the counter poncho? i can't find those for sale anywhere, and i want one.
ebay has them for 30.
i think a poncho is the same thing though right? or are your measurements different than a square camp poncho?

I should unpackage the one someone just brought me back from china. Rivendell said they might make a raincape this year as well.

Buy 'em in bulk. Way cheaper.

I think I saw some at Hub & Bespoke yesterday....but they are probably pretty expensive (but also, likely, very nice quality).

ebay last year sometime. the $20-30 ones on there now look better designed.
A cycling cape's main difference from a poncho is that it's longer in front than in back to cover your arms in riding position, and it has clips on the front and back to hold it from blowing off.
also, they make you hella slow.
This one's a bit short for my arms, i might upgrade and pass it on the free rack when i do.

Today was unquestionably damp. Today was the first time I seriously considered spats.

I knew I was going to work in the rain all day anyways, so out came the fishermen rain gear. I was toasty all day yay.

Here's to missing the bus, deciding to ride in the rain, without fenders, getting soaked twice with killer waves generated by school buses, leaving puddles on the floor in class. Spent a good chunk of the day in front of the bathroom's hand dryers. I then decided to take a trip to the bikery and managed to scrounge around for some fenders.
Took bus home, was harrassed by the metro security officers for riding my bike in bus tunnel and on a sky bridge to the parking garage, then crashed my car turning left (slick conditions, shitty car, wet pavement).
Classic day in Seattle :)
