In Mt. Vernon between 1991 and 1995 there were at least 4 wild fires that burned undeveloped wooded areas requiring full Fire Dept. response that may or may not have started as fires for my "Forts" and grew to be uncontrollable.
Man I could sure run fast.

I can tell you that lighting those "ground-bloom flower" fireworks in the middle of a dry, weed-infested vacant lot is more than just a bad idea.
Also: Sparklers are not safe as projectiles, especially near dry shrubs next to your house.

You know what IS a smart thing to do with ground-bloom flowers? Light them, wait a couple of seconds, then toss them into the air so the fuse lights at the arc of it's trajectory, and then propels it in some arbitrary direction.

I still have a massive bag of fireworks from the 4th I need to do something with. We lit off some at the Wreyford wake, somebody better come up with a good idea circa febuary when it's perpetually dark and miserable.
