A lot of you have been asking me when the next wrench party is going to be:
Monday, November 28th 7 PM 'til Late.
Anyone is welcome to come. No limit on number of people.
I do not charge for labor or grease or minor supplies. All Point 83 official members (spoke card holders) get %20 OFF parts and accessories. My only requirement for the discount is that you pay cash, check or debit card.
Speaking of Spoke Cards:
I have access to a large laminater so we could make a bunch.
I scanned in my spoke card and we can print it out or scan in other peoples and print them. I know Jake made each one by hand originally. Derrick, if you come can you bring the .83 logo on disk or email it we could create a new "Second Year" card. Point is there are a bunch of folks that need spoke cards.
One more issue to address: There are many people that come on the rides and are active on the forum but never race. (many women, especially). Do we want allow people that have no interest in racing to get spoke cards? Maybe 3 rides and a race or 5 rides without a race?
Just my thoughts, not trying to take a leadership role.

i think since we do have a race at greenlake every single month, all they have to do is show up and ride 2.8 miles to get the race qualification met. that's hardly onerous.

Yeah, the greenlake races could use more hoodlums on crazy bikes these days.

I was looking at some healing scrapes the other day and wondered "How did I get these?" Then I remembered "Oh, yeah, the Green Lake Race on a crazy bike"
I vote, a 2nd year design for spoke cards, pehaps a contest, open to all current spoke card members, bring prototype design to first thursday ride in 2006. All current members in attendance vote at that time to decide.

im in 100 percent for the bike wrench party. i got a couple bikes that need a little minor work.
i have a vector version of the logo, ill post that tomorrow on the server here for people to download. the card design contest idea sounds great to me. we can get everyones ideas and put them all on a thread vote on the best one here on the forum. great idea
in the meantime, we can bust out some old version spoke cards until we get the new ones voted on and done, aaron, can you send me that scanner file that you have and i can set them up and print them out, ill bring a ton of them over to you to get laminated and cut up (i have a large format cutter we can use)
Does the Mess Man Halloween Race or the Cops and Robbers race count? I'll be working on my road bike on Monday.

i think the intent was to only count .83-sponsored races. e.g. for the last few months the greenlake race. i know andre and i have a race roughed out, dean has been mentioning drag race #2, and garth has one in his mind as well.
so we should get off our asses and run races!

keeping with justin's Uphill Sprint race, i've found a good location for doing Uphill Sprint #2. Problem: it's in Bellevue.
Any interest in point83 doing a race on the eastside?

yet another spoke went pop in the night...
they've started to break on the non-drive side now. I guess i've replaced all the ones on the drive side. lolz, shitty wheels are funny.
Anyway yeah i'll be there.
Scotty- uphill sprints are painful enough without having to go out to bellevue. What hill were you thinking of?

Drag race #2 will be when it starts to warm up. I wanna see some SKIN!
I was, however, thinking of doing a Decemberween race. It would be a lot like a holloween race, only in december. That means you get to dress up all retarded again. But I have to find out when I'll be back in NV before I can get crazy hardcore on the boonjiggy.

I think it's important to make it clear that the greenlake race is pretty laid back.
I mean my girlfriend won the womens category, and that was the first time she'd ever raced anyone! of course she won by default but that only proves my point.

If someone makes spoke cards I want one. I've done a race and a bunch of rides. If these get made in the next couple of weeks, can whoever makes 'em give one to Kori to give to me? Or mail one to me?
I hope I see lots of you riding tomorrow night. I'll be in my new home in San Francisco in less than 48 hours!

my feet are really really wet. also the freezing rain somehow made me sober. we should ride back out to aaron's and get the party restarted.
