Wie sind deine Blätter verbrennen!

It's almost time. Begin collecting christmas trees NOW. EACH OF YOU. SEVERAL TREES. DO IT.

Jan 13 is the post-Christmas conflagration.

As in the past, there will be prizes for the most trees, the most creative tree transport, and the person who comes closest to being as awesome as Jeni Spamer.

This Questionland thread may provide some good answers as to where to find tossed Christmas trees over the next few weeks. I've already bagged my first!

Im usually responsible for getting rid of the Xmas trees at the properties I manage. I can probably scrounge up 5 -10 trees. Not sure how many I can fit on my trailer but I will probably have extra as well as an extra trailer if anybody would like the use of one.

Pro Tip: I also receive $10 per tree for my disposal service.

Win. If I weren't planning on getting drunk I'd offer to rent a damn truck and fill it up to the brim.

The ZipTruck is $10.50 an hour. I think we can make this happen.

Does this count as a "Christmas Tree"?

If we were to define our items-to-be-tossed-in-the-pyre per Lantius' Codex of Flammable Goods then yes, this can be counted as a "Christmas Tree" analog due to its festive wrappings.

Because jpg's are easier to view than pdf's.

I'll try to ride it around my neighborhood Friday morning looking for trees.

Not sure if we get yard waste / compost pickup that week.

I won't be there next thurs, but there are now 11 xmas trees on the front lawn. ~4 are like 60 lbs, so they're probably not slick tire/bob trailer friendly transporting from that location, I dunno.

The older years' threads were fun.

Urban Forest

My backyard is starting to look like a Christmas tree kill zone.

if trees, heavy or otherwise, are pre-transported Wednesday night and dumped in the woods near the pedestrian tunnel right about here i think something good would happen with them the following evening...

I've bought a trailer in the last year, got some trees last night, and hope to bring a newb or two on this ride.

This pic (Alex Wetmore's) from last year is inspiring:

Snagged 'em! Well at least the decent ones, there were some serious Charlie Brown's in there.

It's looking like I will have the 2011 calendars in time for this ride, so we can do a little release party at the Sloop again afterward if we like.

I have a tree for the taking. I'm on the south side of the arboretum. I can also drop it off to a lucky candidate on ride day downtown between noon and one. Unfortunately I have to work until at least 10:30PM so I can't make the ride. Let me know!

Seems like there are more folks with trees than trailers. Trailer audit?

Yard waste pick up happens in Ballard tomorrow during the day, which could make for lots of trees at the curbside this evening.

I can take a good 2 or 3 large trees on the sidehack, but I don't want to ride it that way alone for 9 miles against the flow of bike commuter traffic.

I need to coordinate a pre-ride tree pickup with a stockpile holder nearish to westlake — Rogelio?

I can hold trees.

Current Stock: 5 Trees

2 - Rogelio
1 - Maile (you still want one right?)
2 - Fred???

I can take in about 5 more trees as pre-WLC staging.

Sure! I also just found another one that I think I can manage on my bike.

I've got a tree stashed at my place at the top of Dexter that, if all goes according to plan, I won't be able to carry myself due to calendar hauling. I've also got a friend near 92nd & Phinney who is willing to donate her tree if anybody is willing to pick it up.
