I've got a tree stashed at my place at the top of Dexter that, if all goes according to plan, I won't be able to carry myself due to calendar hauling. I've also got a friend near 92nd & Phinney who is willing to donate her tree if anybody is willing to pick it up.
I can get that tree, sometime this evening. Details plz?

I'll be coming from work on Thursday but will be able to handle something shoved into compression straps like last year, so if there's an extra tree somewhere accessible to first hill / cap hill before the ride, I'll grab it... otherwise I'll hope for plenty laying around day-of at WLC or somesuch.

Anyone have advice/tips for transporting trees without trailer? (assuming you have a decent rear rack)

1: just put it in the straps of a messenger bag real wide like. ive done that for a couple years now and it's fine. only thing you need to worry about is accidentally knocking off side mirrors of cars with the stump
2. tie down the large end really securely to the rack, let the other end dangle behind you in the street. you'll lose a bunch of pine needles, but it will follow along and make it there.

There's another one in the alley between 8th and 9th and Spring and Seneca. Basically on 1st Hill right near Town Hall. There was only one last time I checked because TicTocScott already raided the others but I bet there will be more by Thurs. My parents left theirs on their deck in the nearby building and my plan is to go pick it up on my way to the meet up/prefuck so if you want to come with me I can show you the way.

Use boat straps or rope if you tie a tree to the rear rack, you don't want it bouncing around.
Last year I used a backpack and boat straps to go all the way around the tree and the pack in sort of an X shape. Worked fine.

I would love to meet up with you after I'm off work nearby and grab trees and prefuck with you.

Prefuck - the gathering for drink, and possibly food, in preparation for coital relations, sometimes referred to as "a date" or "a bike ride."

Derrick Ito will be using his new found fame and fortune from his lucrative offensive greeting card industry to supply everyone with free cheeseburgers.
Pass it on.

Just so you all know, Devo Ray's band is playing the 2-bit on this cheery night. We should most certainly retire there after we've burned enough things.
To hear him play hardcore punk.
And drink.
And smell smoky.

DON'T just drag the trees with a line secured to the end of a rack. I've bent one that way.
They'll probably congregate around the stage and street corner as most protest/vigil demonstrations. Errant candles should be nothing to worry about as long as we're on time to leave

Damn, now I'm worried there won't be any errant candles leading to an accidental bonfire on wheels.

For transporting trees this year I plan to tie my tree to Derrick. I might tie two. You are all encouraged to use my method for carrying trees to Golden Gardens - it is superior to all other known methods.

Twenty trees in my backyard now. Seriously, who wants to pull a trailer? I don't think anyone wants to wait for me to pull 20 trees with one bike.
Speaking of handguns, Does anyone have any .22short rounds they need to get rid of? Seriously, do they even make .22 shorts anymore?
And Deven do you want your lense back on this ride? If I can find where the roommates put it, I'll toss it in my bag for reals this time.

I'll just apologize now for the really really large gif's.

.22 short? Seriously? They're probably the 2nd most common round out there, right after .22LR. Check out Cabelas. Might run you $10 for 1000.
Maybe I should actually show up for this ride, since no one knows me here. Or cares, really. I don't even have a tree or a means to haul one. I guess I could cramp my saddlebag full of pinecones or something.

I might have to talked to him at a party where he might have said something about a tree burning on the same night at Golden Gardens. He overheard me talking to Tall Bryan and chimed in.
...if that's what you're trying to link to.

Umm, I'm not enough of a nerd to know how to do this...
Here are the listed details from the event page:
________________________
Event:Christmas Tree Bonfire
Time: Thursday at 9:00pm - Friday at 12:00am
Location: Golden Gardens Park, Seattle
Created By: Brandon Crook
More Info: "Have you been putting off finally getting rid of your Christmas Tree this year? How abouts we all have a big bonfire at Golden Gardens! I know of at least a few trees that are slated for a burnin', maybe you've got one yourself?
We'll aim for a tree light-off at 9pm, and sit round the treefire with blankets and drinks to warm the cockles of our hearts. Weather permitting, you're welcome to join us for a pre-burn bike ride. The weather permitting part is for you joining us, we'll be riding regardless -- just let me know if you want to meet up ahead of time so I can shoot ya the deets.

If somebody reasonably responsible wants to borrow my trailer (I'll be outta town) he or she can do so. All I ask is that it be returned to my backyard (from whence you would pick it up) in more or less the same condition you found it. With the hitch.

I have 1.9 trailers (one isn't painted yet but could have the wheels bolted on for the night).
Colin and I moved them up to GG tonight by truck. Hopefully everyone who saw us arrive all absurd looking and leave tree-free won't report us to anyone and our bounty will be waiting in two days.
