I was asked by some relatives to recommend a hotel in Seattle. Never having stayed in a Seattle hotel, I have no idea.

Any input from the peanut gallery? Probably mid-range price wise.

Depends on the desired location but my parents love staying at http://www.universityinnseattle.com/ in the U-Dist (near Roosevelt & U-Bridge) which is only a hop/skip/jump from my house. Obviously not a good choice if you want to walk out of your hotel and immediately be in the mix.
How old are the relatives?

University Inn is where my family stays too, they've always been happy with it. They haven't stayed there since 2003 though, when we got a larger house.

A friend of mine used to work at the silver cloud inn on broadway and madison. They have a REALLY nice swimming pool + hot tub. Other than that, I've never stayed there but it seems nice.

Hotel 1000 was a recent build and very nice. Minimal and Modern.

Edgewater has a cool location but rooms are a little dated and play off the 'lodge' style.

The relatives are my age. They are thinking downtown. They're also reading this thread now.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

The travelodge near the U-Village is horrible. Apparently the one downtown is less so.

Downtown La Quinta is bike and pet friendly, has free breakfast and is next to Whole Foods.
