I'm half tempted to just give you mine for that lol. Some day I'll replace it with one that has more headroom, but not quite yet.

You need to borrow my bigger 2 man tarp tent this weekend? I've been using my 1 man version more often

Andre pointed out in IM that golite is selling stuff at half of their old prices:
http://www.golite.com/tents/shelters-and-tents

For the hammock hanging set this means 800-fill down top quilts for $125 (40F) or $150 (20F) in both regular and long

I like my TarpTent too much to get rid of it. The golite stuff doesn't look quite as nice to me, but it might be worth checking out reviews.

Wow, the poncho that turns into a tarp tent is freaking awesome... 7 oz?!

This would be a good emergency shelter/ultra light weight back up raincoat/shelter.

Yeah, they're nice to have around. I have a cheapie version that Emily and I use as a cooking shelter/tarp often.

It's a hell of a lot lighter than the 7lb. rubberized canvas versions!

talk to me more about hammock insulation.

as in, one of the mummy bags?

would they also be usable for bottom quilt?

Not the mummy bags, the quilts:
http://www.golite.com/UltraLite-800-Fill-3-Season-Quilt-Long-P46822.aspx

I don't think it would make a great underquilt, it doesn't have the slot to fit your feet through and probably isn't wide enough to wrap around the bottom of the hammock properly. Plus it would need to be modified to hang there.
