this is where we create a plan so awesome that Grant Petersen will have no choice but to acquiesce to our plans of taking him on our ride.

Just started reading this book. It's good and basically aimed at people who love to ride, but get lost in obsessing about everything cycling related except riding.
Petersen aims to change that.

This is the best opportunity to ride really useless road bikes and super clicky shoes to a book reading that you'll ever have.

You don't even know! Turns out that a topeak mini shock pump mounting bracket is almost exactly stick diameter. So I have a handy place to store my stick until I need to shift with it.

I will see you there.
From the short reading I did on Amazon, it sounds like this guy writes down all the things I think about biking. You can judge for yourself if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I'll be attending! I wish I had retro-grouchier bike to ride!

Shorter version of this book: Shut the fuck up and ride.
In lieu of attending this I figured I'd read Grant's blog. Apparently he rode the Chilly Hilly this year. And I'm fairly certain he snapped a picture of two of y'all in the background.
If an attendee wants to write up a quick summary and share his best tip/advice you plan to adopt, that'd be awesomesauce.

Thanks for the beers, Jimmy and Andre. Nice talking with ya, good luck on the long ride tomorrow Jimmy. Maybe I'll make it to a Thursday function one of these days. Otherwise, see you when Grant's back in town -- I'll buy the next set of cans.

"Racing ruins everythang" was the premise of his talk. He also read from his book, highlighting the chapter "Cycling is terrible all-around exercise". We tried to lead a splinter-cell at the locks to drink beer in the sun and only roped in one guy I didn't know. Much bike-porn was to be had, and beers in the sun with friends is always a great time.

his other book title "Lies, Legends, and History of a Bicycle Burnout" was rejected by his publisher as 'too confrontational' - whatever that means.
