Roller racing (think stationary bikes), pits two racers against each other while they race as hard as they can for about 20 seconds. A projector screen charts their blistering progress and lets the crowd cheer (or heckle) their favorite racers. Fast or slow, it's a blast for people of any skill level on a bike, and brings together commuters, racers, bike punks, fixie kids, and even the anti-hill, summer weather types.

Chase, Christine, and I will be driving out to Gig Harbor for this. And so should you. We have room for 2 bikes, and 2 people. I'll prolly be racing in the clydesdale class for my first ever cross race. Come heckle my fat ass, and watch Chase ride up a hill. They don't have any hills in The Netherlands.

Figuring on homebound going: bike trail over low bridge > delridge > Andover > greenspace trails south > 26th southbound> Brandon west > climb through Camp Long > back streets to the Junction area.
I'd rather not ride on Fauntleroy -at least, driving the last few days and evenings, I know I'm looking out for cyclists and there were times they were still difficult to make out.
Edit: thanks for the suggestions, I will investigate Avalon. Both you and Andre suggested it. and maybe it's better to go up Avalon and cross Fauntleroy there and then head south somewhere btw Fauntleroy and California.

As for the trails, I think there are three things that determine what happens, 1) destruction of the trail, 2) safety 3) repeatability. If you are going carefully, and not ripping up the trail, I bet you can get away with it longer. But if you get caught a couple of times they might consider it like trespassing. That said, if they don't know the rules, let them figure it out. Try it a few times and see if anyone complains.
