Blake Island 2014

I know it only April but I have to pull a lot of strings with work to get weekends off this summer so I wanted to start a dialog about Blake Island early.

If I am only going to get one weekend off to do a point 83 camping trip I want it to be this one.

I am proposing June 28th and 29th but I can be a flexible.

I like the sound of cypress island. I can do the 28/29 but not the weekend before that. That said don't change weekends on my account. If we time the tides right can we do it?

I won't go to this, but Cypress is so pretty!

And as Alex notes the currents can be very strong in Bellingham Channel. However, this lady back in the 30's/60's/something used to swim to Cypress from Guemes Island, Ms. Beefcakekesomething. There's this SPL book about her rowing this dory-like thingy solo from like here to Alaska.

June 28 and 29th it is! Blake Island! Let the planning begin!

Ryan and I will be Kayaking. I can likely go over on Friday if anyone is interested in leaving a day early. This being said I have not talked to Ryan about it and I don't know if he can go early.

Are there Kayaks to be borrowed? I have some other friends who are interested.

I think we should totally explore some new territory this summer along with the blake island trip. Cypress looks awesome and I would love to get up there sometime. This might be tricky to figure out logistics wise but lets talk more about it.

You might need to ping them directly. I think Christine said they are generally open every other weekend.

My schedule is pretty busy until end July. The original booked weekend doesn't look that great for me either. I was waiting to see how things lined up before committing.
