Henri
I read this first on the SB website, but someone posted it again on bike pirates today.
"I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailleur? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"
-- Tour de France founder Henri Desgrange, in a 1902 L'Equipe article
It's a cool quote and all, but I just wanted to make fun of the guy for spelling his name Henri.
