I love John Denver (rip). Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without my John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album.
A coworker of mine used to work at Monterey Bay Nat'l Marine Sanctuary and was there when his plane went down. She got to see what happens to a human when it's thrust through a plane engine at 100 mph: fish food.
Anyhoo...great blog Sean! :)

Jill, that's funny. I'll have to see if the library has that cd.

My dad was telling me a story of himself hitch hiking in Iowa. He got picked up by this guy in a brand new Jaguar and they talked basically about nothing for half an hour. The guy said my dad looked like John Denver as he was dropping him off, Pops walked a few blocks went by a record store and realized John denver gave him a ride. True Story!

The "Grandma's Feather Bed" routine has to be one of my all-time favorite Muppet Show moments.
I'm not actually opposed to John Denver. Jill's muppet references came from a remark about how I once did part of a century with John Denver's "Calypso" going through my head. This kind of thing happens to me all the time. What made it really bad was I don't know the whole song.
I also got Calypso stuck in my head once most of the way up and down Mount Hood.
But, a friend said he got "Turn on Your Heartlight" stuck in his head the whole time he was climbing Mt. Rainier. He'd get up in the morning, thinking it was gone and then it'd start up again.
And this is why I'm so religiously devoted to my MP3 player. My inner voice is a babbling idiot sometimes and I just don't want to listen to his crap anymore.
