The weekend looks dry.
Who is up for some bike camping?

Looking at Scenic Beach State Park for a destination.
Meet at the Seattle Ferry Dock at Noon on Saturday (boat sails to Bremerton at 12:35pm)

I called the park and there are some firewood options. There is a general store nearby for beer.

Excite! The general store is quite adequate, and a short ride. There's a little pizza place next door thats decent as well.

Heading out from Bremerton I preferred Holly rd instead of all the way on Seabeck. Less traffic and (I think) less hill. At the end of Holly there's also a road house and store on the way out.

FWIW, Google Maps directions say to take Holly Rd. I had to look up this park, had never heard of it. I think this sounds awesome, but I might already be doing something in Poulsbo on Saturday. Will confirm if I'm a yes in the near future. I miss bike camping already.

Scenic beach is dope. In this case the scenic part was some drunk fat dudes raw dogging oysters on the shore and rolling around in the water.

I'm open to route options. Going over Holly makes us hump it up over a ridge regardless.

I was looking at going over the Manette Bridge and through Silverdale. Seemed to follow the shore pretty well. I've not been on any portion of this route though so I can't verify the quality. It does show up on the Strava heatmap though.

Ha, so I guess we are on a first name basis with the park ranger. He called back this morning to make sure we were still coming and he said he'd leave some wood out for us by the ranger residence.

Bring cash for wood and camping fees.

I'll see you hardy campers in..

Just an FYI, apparently the rangers there are extremely strict about noise at night.
Elyse went there for a wedding/reception/camping this summer with a Point83 sized group of people. The ranger went ape-shit multiple times throughout the night saying they were too loud and wild even though she claims they were acting low-key sitting around a fire all night. She mentioned something about the ranger writing a ticket to some people that went skinny dipping in the sound.
