If it's any consolation, I've been having some kick-ass rides home lately. I ride to work three days a week. To learn the area, my new rule is I can ride the same way twice but it has to be in a different direction (to or from work).
Last night I rode to ballinger way, then up 40th (holy shit the hills!) to cedar then up into lynnwood and home down 196th (I live like 400 yards from where Filbert-cum 196 meets 527).
The commute is starting to be fun again.
And, if you get off the main roads, people aren't so crazy. Almost stupidly courteous in fact.
