of course we're for curtailing alcohol sales. wwtbct if we weren't?
i don't think this makes any damn sense for the u-district, but then again maybe i'm misunderstanding the source of 'chronic public inebriation' in the u-district. perhaps they should have said 'drunken homeless people' - which is of course what they actually mean. i don't think most of those drunken fratties running around the ud are drunk off of thunderbird so much as cheap vodka and schlitz gay. er, schmitz ice.
the 30% voluntary compliance rate is interesting, i wonder what the local percentage was here in the ud though.

Update: Alcohol Sales restriction
Bill to be voted on next Monday in Full Council
Seattle—The City Council will make a final vote on Council Bill 115442 directing the Department of Neighborhoods and the Chief of Police to request that the State Liquor Control Board impose mandatory restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages in the Central Core and North Alcohol Impact Areas on Monday, December 12 at 2:00 p.m in Council Chambers (600 4th Avenue downtown).
