That is a good beginner gear. Please *everyone* refer to your gears in gear inches. It is so much easier to compare. Yours is a 67.5 inch gear pretty good for a beginner. You may want to up it a little as you get stronger. Most of us are running about a 70 inch gear. You can put a fixed cog on your existing hub. I can get it tight enough that it won't come off. I have a large chain whip. You see me skid all the time wet or dry and mine has not budged. No lockring too! It is a myth that your legs will get it tighter than a chain whip. My chain whip is 14 inches long, and I apply at least 100 pounds of force to the very end. Stuart saw me do it and he is running no lockring. Denny can you verify my math here?
