balls, I just realized I have no pannier happy bikes presently. Before I jank something up, does anyone happen to have a 50cmish bike they could lend? otherwise I'll need help getting food up...

I have a rack that belongs to jimmy we can throw on a bike if you have one with eyelets. meet up in ballard and I will put it on.

2nd that. i've you're just going for 24 hours right? you should be able to do that with a backpack easy, even a messenger bag.

if you really want to gear up, put a hiking backpack on. like kevin said, it's only 9 miles on a bike over river grade hard pack forest road. easy easy. no panniers necessary

If you want to do it right and have fun; 7" travel coil-sprung trail bike , 2.5 Minions (or high rollers), 203mm rotors front and rear, and it goes without saying, flat pedals. Use a kiddie trailer to haul your stuff and don't worry about anything not fitting.

For those suffering from chigger bites, I've tried:

1. Benadryl works for about 30 seconds.
2. Tenactin (athlete's foot spray). Works pretty good. Allowed me to sleep.
3. AfterBite *The Itch Eraser (main ingredient is amonia). Investigating now.

that's odd, i came back without a single bite. i wonder if some people are just hyper sensitive to biting bugs?

you sure those are chiggers? i've never heard of them being in western washington.

as for chiggers, they only got me where i didn't spray deet. came out with about 6. #winning.
