My roommate's old Biachi was stolen from the corner of 8th and Lenora last week. He did call the police, no it wasn't on the registry and he doesn't have the serial number or a picture.
It's blue and has a "Kirkwood" sticker on the top tube. It has two water bottle holders and the Planetbike SuperFlash taillight we all have. Looks kind of like this:
I told him I'd throw a post up in here when he told me about it. He was really sad and I wanted to make him feel better.

.
Stolen from the same block as SPD's West Precinct. How was it locked up?
I see poorly half-locked up bikes to that parking sign at the corner by the back door of Mistral Kitchen all the time.

He uses (used to use) a flimsy Kryptoflex cable. And yes it was stolen from that exact sign.
I myself use a slightly thicker Kryptoflex cable and have tied up to that very sign, sometimes through his bike. But where my bike is there for about 2 hours once every few weeks, his is (was) there for 10 hours for four days at a time.
Thanks, I'll pass that info on to him. And I'll probably be getting a real lock soon.
