I'm game if someone has room in their rack for my ride.

I finally have a Sunday free, so I am in. I can just meet you guys up there.

Rain cancels? Wuss.
I'll get to where I'm gonna end up, and that's alright by me.

Lets do the Thrilla. Objections?

Matt: Do you have the ability to carry one more on your vehicle?

I will not have a car tomorrow so will need a ride, or I may just HTFU and ride to the ride.

I can take +1 as long as the bike has a standard axle. If you have a 15 (or even kookier, a 20 mm through axle!), it won't fit on the carrier.

I stripped down a garmin-generated version of the Thrilla to just the track: http://www.wabdo.com/fred/thrilla.kml

On an iPhone you can email it to yourself as an attachment, and open it in Google Earth successfully from Mail.

I dunno how all that works on Android but it's probably easier.

The parts we actually rode are in green, totaling a bit over 25 miles.

We rode it clockwise, making for a few very steep fire road climbs on the Tolt and some very fun downhill sections on the Puget Powerline trail. The connecting section through the Redmond Watershed was less fun and flowy this way, but most of the optional trail portions would've had steep unrideable singletrack portions going the other direction.

It'd be fun to ride it counter-clockwise and explore the optional loops we didn't take this time.

Right after railing a steep rocky descent on the Puget Powerline trail at great speed, I caught my wheel in a rut at 1mph approaching a gate and laid the bike down — putting a big bruise on top of my left kneecap from hitting it against the top tube :(

The <a href="http://connect.garmin.com/activity/18055126">Garmin track</a> for the "39 Mile Thrilla" that I'd stripped down for Google Earth was from 2007, and there'd definitely been some new houses constructed since then.

Labeled points of interest:

1) We didn't end up going this way, but this red section of trail is definitely gone. It does look like you could easily connect it to the remaining parts on roads through the new subdivision.

2) This red section of trail towards Nike Park <a href="http://redmondcity.blogspot.com/2010/09/education-hill-hiker-asks-for-nike.html">was obliterated</a> by the construction of a new cul-de-sac of houses, as confirmed by a dog-walker just after we tried going around on a <a href="http://redmondcity.blogspot.com/2011/07/have-you-been-on-redmonds-mystery-trail.html">new but unrideable trail segment</a> a little to the east.

3) Some <a href="http://www.redmond.gov/cms/One.aspx?portalId=169&pageId=1502">rad BMX jumps and pump track</a>. They were somewhat eroded, turns out that's because there's <a href="http://www.redmondbikepark.com/">a project to expand them</a> which is <a href="http://www.redmond-reporter.com/news/124013259.html">being appealed</a> by <a href="http://hartmanparkprotectors.com/the-issue/">some asshat</a>, which has halted any work parties

4) The <a href="http://evergreenmtb.org/wiki/index.php?title=Trail:Willows_Fjords">Willow Fjords</a> trail is a potential hardcore extension on the other side of the Samammish River that links with the route if done clockwise

Target acquired. Thanks Jeff.

Trails are family friendly because they are fun and involve families. Funny that the he referenced features a veteran TFK director and teacher of said family programs riding LEGAL trails built in conjunction with Evergreen and King County Parks Division.

This asshat sounds like a noFundamentalist.

Looking for more info on future meetings to silence such asshats.
Now's good. Before would have been better, but before is over.

My new 29er showed up, but the frame got damaged in shipping and awaits a repair attempt at R+E next week…

But I'm down to ride my Rawland again on this sad bastard sunday! Weather should be minimal showers during the day: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph . =graphical

If people are able to borrow MTBs we could go for Duthie.

If people are on touring / cyclocross bikes, there's still St. Edwards, or a repeat of the Thrilla but counter-clockwise hitting different trails.

REVISED!!

Happy Bastard SATURDAY -Nov. 19th we ride , partly as a birthday gift to myself.

Banner is all singletrack, excellent for cyclocross bikes and singlespeeds as well as more typical f'n mtb fare. Excellent fun twisties through the trees. (Much like Soaring Eagle but without the leaves and with fewer roots.) Much of it drains well, but there are some huge mudholes. Plan on being dirty by the end of the ride.

Emily and Roscoe and I are driving, room for 2 more in our car. The plan is to make a pot of chili the night before and bring fixins so we can eat there.

We'll take the ferry from , Banner is only 3 miles from the ferry dock so if you like you can ride your bike on to the ferry (we can take extra gear in the car for you).

Tentative plan is to get the 9:45AM ferry, there's a 10:10 ferry if that doesn't work out. We'll ride for a couple of hours, eat some food, ride a bit more, and return home.

-Sorry for the revision, turns out Saturday is the better option. [/b]
