BIKE PROM IS BACK!
Get ready, kittens. After a much-needed break in 2011, Bike Prom is back! Bike Prom 2012: Bikepocalypse will take place on May 26, 2012. More specific times, locations, and ticket info to come in the next few weeks. In the meantime, may we suggest you start planning your outfit.
This year, we’re trying a couple of new things. The first is that we’re having an underlying theme: Bikepocalypse! (A-prom-calypse?). I mean, we’re still Bike Prom, and forever will be. We still want the fancy, dapper, glamourous, and glittery outfits that we’ve come to expect from Bike Prom attendees over the years. But this year, we’re hoping you’ll take that to the next level and tailor it for the Bikepocalypse. What would you wear to the last Bike Prom on Earth?
Second, we’re giving out prizes! Awesome, top-secret prizes, in the following categories…
Best Dressed Bike: For those who make the effort to ensure that their bike looks as good as they do, we’ll be giving out TWO prizes for Best Dressed Bike, AND your bike will be displayed for all to admire.
Toughest Bike Gang: The most bad-ass gang of 3 or more. What makes a bike gang tough? This category is entirely about style and image. Show us your nasty side.
Highest Viz Bike Gang: Safety meets style in this gang of 3 or more. This gang’s hyper-visibility should be able to damage our retinas…though reflectors and safety gear are not necessary.
Daaaaang! Gang: Dazzle our judges. Create a bike gang of 5 or more that blows our judges’ minds with its clever name, theme, and sweet outfits.
